My takeaway from the game. Cons: Shot poorly for 30 minutes. Zero inside presence and got killed on the boards. Pros: AJ, Foster and Dalton. It’s going to take a few games to blend in 6 new players. Glad the staff schedule this game against a really talented team. It clearly showed our weak points and what needs to be improved upon.
Game wasn't nearly as close as final score - they were up by as much as 21 while shooting like 13% from 3, and they shot a lot of 3s. Crushed us on the boards and way more athletic.
I would not overhype the Dawgs. Maybe by mid-February we'll jell into a team that is a really tough opponent.
I know it was just an exhibition, but this same Bama team got blown out by TCU 99-66 last week. As an SEC team, Bama doesn't look that strong this year. Two of their starters are transfers from mid major programs.
You can't always judge exhibitions by scores as you don't know who played number of minutes played what the team philosophy was I am sure Mullins has a plan and things will workout hopefully with a veteran team they gel quicker than last year and come out of the gates quickly
I like that the rebounding issue is in the forefront of coaches’ minds going into the season. I don’t see why this team can’t be a pretty good rebounding team (especially when not playing Bama) if it’s consistently emphasized.

Both TCU (#14) and Bama (#20) are ranked in the AP Top 25 preseason poll.
The minutes spread was pretty wide for Southern too; I wouldn't expect the minutes to spread that far once we get into games that matter. Would it have made a difference? Probably not, but it's definitely a factor.

Great interview. Coach: "Foster is an elite shooter."

Agree with this and respect the fact that BM used a lot of players as he should have.
Would ad:
-free throw shooting still poor
-poor shooting result of low shot clock causing bad looks
-way too many turnovers.
Glad they played such a talented opponent. Looking forward to season
March on triumphantly!

It was a great interview, interesting and encouraging that Banks and Ferguson also had good games against K State. Also interesting that the guy who scored 33 against TCU was held to 5 buckets. That which does not kill you makes you stronger, onward and upward!

Banks may end up being wayyyy more important than we all expected this year. I'm interested in seeing how this develops.
