Take a bad win over a good loss
Horsesh**. I will take us playing the way we did vs good competition against Colorado, Northeastern and Creighton ALL DAY over the nonsense we watched tonight and before the tournament.
Jones had 21 - should have had 27/28. 2 - 9 FTs and 1 - 5 from 3.
Domask had 24 - awful 1st half but finally played the way we know he can.
Nobody else was worth ka ka offensively. Verplanken only took 3 shots - not enough. We need scorers besides MD and LJ or it's going to be a long MVC season!
Coupet's been very disappointing to me so far. He has his moments but I don't think he's very good defensively despite the fact he was brought in for length and he hasn't been a factor on offense most of the time.
I don't know how SIU can justify continuing to not play Wonders if Dalton Banks is out Wednesday with his facial injury. This team will be ran into the ground by February.
Maybe Wonders is way out of his element against D1 players? Hope not.
Coupet has has some good moments. Didn't add much tonight for sure, and I don't think he's a great get from the transfer portal.
@gobluesaluki would rather they lost I will take any win we can get it. I rather point out problems after a win instead of a loss

Maybe he is but if Wonders can give you a few minutes a night, that's better than playing Domask 40 minutes a game. It's not sustainable to play Domask and Jones as much as they are and expect this team to be fresh in conference season. We all said the same thing 2 years ago but this team was supposed to have the depth to prevent that. JD Muila shouldn't even be playing 25 minutes like he did tonight coming off major surgery.
Of course, this team needed every Jones & Domask minute to beat Alcorn State
D’Amico has real potential.
I'm sure glad somebody sees it. I'm struggling to.
I'm not sayin' -- I'm just sayin'!
D’Amico has real potential.
Yes, his minutes are increasing and he's showing some pretty steady play.
Rodney Watson was going bananas tonight and I didn’t even hear much of it.
A lot of stuff about guys not wanting to lose and D-I guys hating to lose.
D’Amico has real potential.

He’s a role player while learning, but his off ball movement and no fear attitude on offense, mixed with upside on scoring to me shows he could live up to the hype.

I really wanted him to finish that dunk at the end. What a huge confidence booster that would have been.

I'm simply not seeing it yet. I do have to disagree, strongly, with his no fear attitude on offense. I saw him pass on at least 4 wide open shots. That simply doesn't say fearless to me. It says scared and hesitant freshman to me.

I didn't really see much from D'Amico but he's providing much needed minutes out there and I don't think he was hurting the team in any way. That's exactly what they'd need out of Wonders if they played him. Would have been nice to get him out there tonight because this was supposed to be an easy game. Doubt they're gonna throw him out there against Evansville. It's gonna be an 8 man rotation likely if Banks can't go.

Fearless was once he got the confidence to try the dunk. He was fouled, and I saw the passes that were in the flow of a set offense.
He flat footed his 3 point attempt or it was good.
There is upside here. The amount of minutes he got in a close game guarding good athletes will pay dividends during conference play, imo.
D’Amico has real potential.
I'm sure glad somebody sees it. I'm struggling to.
I was watching him tonight, and he looks to me like he belongs on a D1 basketball court. He moves well on D and, though he's a bit tentative on O, seems to get it. He's a work in progress, but I liked what I saw from him. I did not think he was any sort of liability when he was in there anyway.

I'm glad I'm in the minority on this one.
