If SIU did an all Decade Team, who makes the cut?

My First Team:

Gene Teague

Pippen

Sean O'Brien

AB

Desmar Jackson

Player of the Decade: AB

This is probably the right 5, I'd probably swap Armon Fletcher for Teague.  If not, 2nd team would include Aaron Cook and Fletcher and probably JUCO transfers like Jeff Early, Mike Rodriguez, Mamadou Seck that made an impact

Nothing against the guys who have been mentioned, but wow, what a drop-off in star power (not to mention program success) compared to previous decades of Saluki basketball.

Gene Teague??? No freaking way. His best and last year, averaged 8.6 ppg and 5.3 rbs - only 10 blocks. In his two year career, he had two games over 15 points: 18 against Drake, 17 against Wright St.

Kavion Pippen 12.8ppg, 5.6 rbs, 63 blocks, 10 games of 20 pts or more in his two-year career. Led the league in blocks.

Sadly enough, Gene Teague's 2 years are pretty good for the last decade.  Here's to a better decade.

It’s just too depressing. Pick a top 5 from 2000-2009, and compare to the next decade, let’s see.....Darren Brooks, Kent Williams, Roland Roberts, Big Game Jermaine, Bryan Mullins, etc., etc.

How dare you not mention Tony and BMF individually 🤣

Add in guys like Shaw and Hairston, and I know who I’d put my money on in a matchup of the 2000s second team vs. the 2010s first team.

for some reason I feel the need to be the one to point out that this isn't the end of the decade. Decades start with year 1, not year 0. So this current decade runs from 2011-2020. Just sayin. Continue with the discussion now. lol

"A decade is a ten year span that can start from any arbitrary point. A new decade just started 5 seconds ago and will end exactly ten years from the point it began. A new decade will begin in 2020. Actually, infinitely many decades will begin in 2020 given that time is continuous. Infinitely many decades have begun since you started reading this." You are correct in what you say but the reason most people end the decade's best things on the 9 years is that it just makes more sense to say the 70's ended in 79 rather than 80.

What is most disappointing about the fore mentioned group is the lack of 4 year players with only Sean O'Brien being mentioned all the others are transfers either in or out not the best way to build or sustain a program
