I like the play of their point guard Alston Mason. We offered him a scholarship. He started at Oklahoma then transferred to Mo St.
SIU fans were awesome last night and might have made the difference. After 15 years of the program doing nada, that’s some impressive loyalty.
I really hope Mullins finally recognizes major changes are needed offensively this offseason, but that’s a conversation for another day. So happy for the players - both the ones who performed well and those who struggled - that the season didn’t end with another Friday loss in STL.
I think the size of the Saluki crowd last night shows how much the fans are hungry for a winning program after the years of malaise with the end of Chris Lowery and Barry Hinson. It was tough during that first half but the crowd really got into it in the second half
Has to be the ugliest win I have ever seen. Just excruciating first half, especially the free throws and missed cupcakes.
Congrats Salukis and staff! Keep winning no matter how bad. Way too much booze (for medicinal purposes from game play) but went to bed with a smile on my face.
