Curious how many people the Sycamores bring to Arch Madness this year. This Tree team is beloved in Terre Haute, rightfully so.
Looking at the remaining schedule for both UNI and SIU, both schools realistically have 6 very winnable games and could make that final game in early March the final battle for the 4 seed. Both teams in theory could easily be 12-7 going into that game. It would be a home game vs UNI. That top 4 seed is absolutely on the table. Obviously I’m making a ton of assumptions and a lot of games need to be played. Im just stating that the 4 seed is extremely attainable just by taking care of business.

SIU, statistically, DEFINITELY still has a shot at the four seed. For example, if you you look at the Massey Ratings it projects SIU and UNI will tie for 4th at 12-8. Right now they are rated #120 and #119 respectively. If you dive into the predictions for each game and give each team a W for games they are predicted to lose by 2 points or less [(SIU host InSU and @Belmont) and (UNI host BU)] the Dawgs finish 14-6 and UNI 13-7 and outright take the 4 seed.
For what it is worth too . . . Massey Ratings predicts we win the final game at the Dawg Pound (aka, Banterra) 69-65.
Go Southern Go ! ! !

Kinda thinking we might be headed for one of those weird deals where SIU finishes the regular season against UNI and then turns around and faces them in the 4-5 quarterfinal less than a week later. There isn't going to be an easy quarterfinal draw with the quality of the top 4-5 teams this year, but it would be nice to get a Thursday bye and go into Friday fresh, especially for Xavier Johnson's sake. Earning that bye won't be easy, obviously - really need to win these next two against Mo State and at UIC.
Funny how a 2 game winning streak happens and everyone is back on the train for a 4 seed that is why I love this board it has the greatest of highs and the greatest of lows and emotions on the sleeve
Murray loses a 15 point home lead to Illinois State and loses
I’m confident Steve Prohm will have Murray State contending in the near future. They have a solid program and have for years.

Caught a minute of that game. Murray was up by 6 or 7 with just a couple minutes to go! Thought the Redturds were dead.

After that garbage at the end of last year's game here when Prohm ran screaming down the floor at the ref after the game, I lost all respect for that guy. Don't know if the conference can fine him, but they should have for that craziness. Then his bad sportsmanship carried over to his players in the "good game" line. Piss poor example.
Hope he fails big time.
I can't recall two worse back-to-back losses by a Valley team than what Murray just pulled off. I'm sure it's happened; just can't think of a comparable circumstance.
Safe to say they will be playing Thursday, and who knows how low they will dip.
murray is a trainwreck now. i like it. they a ren't used to losing at home. defanitely not used to giving up double digit leads in the 2nd half to a big rival and another team in consecutive games. trouble brewing ther , i bet
Murray fan base is certainly not happy, but I just don't see them moving off Prohm yet. Maybe if something similar happens next year they hit the reset button.

Agree. I think there will be some pressure on him to contend next year after a rough start to his second go-round.

They have too good of a recruiting class coming in to move on. Jordan McCullum chose them over Georgia, Mizzou, and Ole Miss. #148 player in the country.
What is happening in Murray is exactly what I expected. They aren’t great, nor are they terrible. But it’s year 2 and their fans can’t handle the fact that they have to actually compete for wins and they already want their coach fired. Things will never be as smooth as they were in the OVC, and coach Prohm basically walked into an impossible situation (not that I feel sorry for him the slightest bit).
