I am honestly a bit surprised to see him go and with Wardle’s policy no coming back. I think he can for sure be successful at a bigger school, just not sure to what degree. He’ll get paid either way I suppose. The rich get richer.

I think you will see Schertz walking the sidelines at the Chaiffetz Center next year at SLU. I would be shocked if a few of his ISU players are not there with him. SLU has some donors with big pockets, like the one who the building they play in is named after. They coughed up $10 mil to send Travis Ford on his way.
i remember seeing Bruce Weber talking at a coaching clinic one time at SLU. He commented that when he was at Purdue as an assistant, he could buy his kids bikes. When he came to SIU, he could afford four-wheelers. When he got the job at U of I, he could buy them cars.
