Much appreciated dawgbytes. Not looking for credit. Just want to keep spirits high with sharing potentially good news about the upcoming schedule. I think most will be in favor considering our mid-major status, and current overall position.

Exactly he knows but just teases, I liked the old days when the information was on here first. 😎

Did he mention ANY names prior to getting Rupert or was there just the "you all will be excited because we will be signing someone soon"? I am still 50/50 on him totally trolling or actually knowing. I mean anyone can say "hey, it's September 6th and many of you will like the upcoming weather in a few weeks". Mind you, I am not saying he is having fun at the reader's expense, but I am saying I have yet to see ay proof that he has inside information. That being said, I don't care and still enjoy/smile reading his posts. : )
Saw some EARLY rankings on Barttovik today. SIU is currently ranked #2 in the conference behind Drake. The projected records are obviously still in the works as schedules have not been finalized.

Geez I'd take this with an extreme grain of salt if they think Northern Iowa is the 271st best team in the country
Is McFly a new sandwich at McDonalds? Doesn't sound that appetizing, unless you're a frog! 😀

Spot on he never mentioned any names. As far as the schedule goes still hearing the home non conference schedule is going to be very disappointing. Hoping my source is wrong but unfortunately usually isn’t. With the Valley going to a 20 game schedule the home portion should be marginally better overall than last year we are losing Loyola but ALMOST anything would be better. Listened to Mullins talk earlier in the summer about the schedule and will be majorly disappointed IF it is bad . He stressed how this team should be his best team and he is anticipating fighting for an at large berth to the NCAA IF they don’t win the Valley Tournament and not only getting into the NCAA tournament but making a run in the NCAA tournament. I hate to put all of our money on the three days in March in St Louis.
The rest of the schedule would have to dramatically improve if this team wants any chance of an at-large, they’d have to have close to a 2020 Drake season (they also played a weak non-con season) to have a shot.
Right now, our schedule appears to be on-par with if not worse than last year’s brutal schedule and you can remove two games against Loyola.
Saint Louis is by far the toughest test and should be around a top 25 team. UNLV was #90 in KenPom so a decent test, Minnesota added some transfers but were a bottom tier Big Ten team if we get them, we might end being higher in KenPom.
Little Rock might be the best team in the OVC but that’s not saying much, likely sub-200 KenPom. Tennessee State, Alcorn State and our likely MTE 2nd game Cal Baptist will all likely be sub 200 KenPom games too.
I think we play SEMO again on the road (not listed on the schedule yet) but they’d be sub-200 too although think Korn has that program in much better shape than they’ve been.
Right now 212 of 363 D1 schools have released full non-conference schedules according to D1Docket on Twitter so the hopes of multiple good games are dwindling. Guess we get one good power-5 road test and then a D2 home game and another sub-200 KenPom home game.

At this point I wonder if Southern will just announce its entire schedule when the conference schedule is released rather than do a separate announcement for non-conference. Especially if the noncon schedule is fairly soft and they're not trying to draw much attention to it, I could see it playing out that way.
If there is a non-D1 team on the schedule, taking scheduling away from Mullins might be necessary.
It was unacceptable when there were 18 conference games, it is even more unacceptable now.
MIZZOU NON-CON.
southern indiana, penn, lindenwood, SIUE, mississippi valley state, coastal carolina, houston baptist, wichita state, SEMO, kansas, UCF, illinois. their only road game in the first two months is at wichita

Pretty strong schedule for Drake, including a neutral court game with Mississippi State, road games at SLU and Richmond and participating in the Paradise Jam (opening with Buffalo). Best home games are Louisiana and Wofford.
