This on top of Hemphill's injury, so Drake is without its two best players just in time for Arch Madness and the NCAAs (if they get there).
Just brutal. Yesufu, the soph from Bolingbrook, has been really good, but Penn is a floor general and leader.
What a kick in the nuts after a special season.
More awful news for Drake:
This is awful. Drake has 3 regular season games left. 1 vs Evansville and 2 vs Bradley. For the MVC's sake, hopefully they can win out in the regular season and stumble into March Madness on at at-large bid. I don't see them doing much more than that, but I'd welcome a pleasant surprise.
I also wonder if the MVC could get a 3rd bid with a a surprise upset of Loyola as well? I doubt Drake will win Arch Madness now.

Drake, minus Hemphill and Penn, would be a prime upset target on Friday or Saturday at Arch Madness. If you're SIU, you'd much rather see Drake on Friday (if you get to Friday) than Loyola at this point, but I'm still not overly optimistic SIU could beat depleted Drake without Domask, who I'm guessing is shut down at this point.
More awful news for Drake:
So sorry to hear this! Really hurts chances for Drake to make a run in the ncaa tourney and may result in them not even getting a bid. If they lose one of their last 3 mvc games or have an early exit in the mvc tourney it probably gives the ncaa selection committee the excuse they need to keep them out. Sounds like Hemphill will be back soon, but if not they are very vulnerable, as they will be missing 2 huge pieces to their success!

I wouldn't quite bet on Domask being out for good, although I'd be surprised if he played before Arch Madness. I'm pretty sure that Drake will get the tiebreaker over Loyola because of Loyola's loss against Indiana State so the 9 seed may just be our best route to the semifinals at this point. Lol
Apparently no one wants to avoid Thursday this year? Evansville and Valpo both lose tonight. Mo State wraps up the 3 seed as Prim torches UE.
Hacksaw's final seeding probabilities:
Loyola wins the league and gets #1 seed. I'm afraid Drake now needs to win the mvc tourney to make the ncaa after the loss to Bradley today. Loyola should be a lock for the ncaa tourney even after we beat them on Friday!
Here is the Arch Madness bracket:
Nice draw for Mo State as a dark horse, with Drake short-handed on their side of the bracket. Drake really needs Hemphill back to be viable next week.
Evansville is one of the worst 5 seeds I can recall.
Not only is the Drake playing without their point guard AND their best player...
...but they will be with seven players to win three games in three days. Tough sledding.
Yes, it is. One of his better seasons, seem on an uptick. Maybe they already have somebody in mind.
