Illinois State got a really interesting transfer in Mark Freeman, a 5'10 soon to be Junior who averaged 17.1 PPG last year at Tennessee State.
Unfortunately, they got hit by the transfer portal again today and lost Dusan Mahorcic who showed some promise this season:

Bradley adds a 6'7 HS point guard from France. Had interest from Maryland, West Virginia, Georgetown, Ole Miss, Memphis. Very intrigued by this one:

Missouri State added a high-scoring transfer/3-point sniper from IUPUI. The Bears are going to have some good competition for the starting 5 and a few really quality bench options, much like Drake and Loyola, who also have some quality depth. In addition to the six players mentioned here, they have Hervey (who hurt Southern badly in one of the games last year) and a freshman guard (Haney) who is supposed to be a really nice addition.
Think Drake and Missouri State are my top 2 teams above even Loyola with their returnees. There's a clear top 3 in the Valley though and if AJ Green's hips are right, they can work their way in there.
The battles for a top 4/5 finish in the MVC next season will be brutal and a lot of fun. Fans of this league will see no shortage of quality basketball. I think there's a chance for three bids if enough noise is made OOC, and there will be opportunities.
It's too bad Drake couldn't keep Yesufu and one has to wonder if Krutwig might've considered a return had Porter not left. Even still, there are some very nice rosters shaping up in the top half. Should make for an exciting season.
--Insert something witty here--
This year will be a lot of fun. I'd love to see SIU crack the top 4 this year!

Bradley just signed 6'9" JUCO athletic forward Malevy Leons. Had offers from Missouri, Marquette, Wichita State, Vanderbilt, and DePaul.
Not sure what has to be screwed up in someone's mind to sign with Bradley over schools like that. Either way, good get for the Valley I suppose.
I'm actually impressed with what other Valley schools were able to add through the transfer portal this year. Granted, our biggest success was simply maintaining the talent that we have, and I think we will be a highly successful team next season. Hopefully with this, even the bottom tier of the Valley this season can pick up some non-conference nice wins for the conference!

I think Bradley is gonna surprise people this year. I think they're right around the SIU tier with SIU having the advantage of bringing back a full roster. Bradley will be talented though.

I really hope you are wrong and they go 0-18
A little overview of some of the turnover around the league:

All things considered, pretty apparent that so far, most teams have had good offseasons. The Yesufu transfer is the one defection that stings the most, but Drake still has a really nice squad.
This is just too bad
"Bradley senior forward Elijah Childs has entered the transfer portal. Childs averaged 14PPG and 8RPG. He will be a highly sought after transfer."
can we just kick Bradley out of the conference please ?

Gonna guess he actually won't be highly sought after

There are plenty of unethical programs out there that will show interest as long as he doesn't have criminal charges pending.
