Not that there's anything wrong with it at all, but Jordan Caroline is all about Jordan Caroline. Next year, he'll be wherever there's the best opportunity for him to sell himself for his future playing prospects.
Caroline's future playing prospects are absolutely overseas. In my opinion, he has no shot at sticking in the NBA. Caroline's not Charles Barkley and doesn't handle the ball well enough at his size to fit the mold of a 2 or a 3 in the NBA.

Nice article and hope like heck the DE is correct about Tommy Bell's intentions. The fact that he has to step in and baby sit Hinson's scheduling is pretty freakin' pathetic.

Kinda of amazing that the DE is the only news media to pickup on Tommy Bell's newsletter. The rest of the media in Southern Illinois is too close to Hinson to report the facts about the program, afraid that they won't be allowed access to the team. No one is saying that we have to go to a postseason (NCAA or NIT) every year but is it really too much for the fans to expect the program to be better than it has been? No postseason in 10 years? You can do survey's, polls, email's to the powers that be and what every else you want but all you need to do is look at the attendance at the games, there is a reason that it is trending down. People aren't buying what Hinson is selling. PERIOD 🤬

Considering that the DE writer is a huge Hinson apologist, check out his previous work, I thought this latest one wasn't half bad. At least he now has a clue that people aren't happy, including Tommy Bell, and pointed it out in the article.

What has happened with SIU DE journalism? This entire article is based on a monthly newsletter. Why didn't the writer interview bell ?
I could list dozens of follow-up questions.
Here is one example:

Mr. Bell, are you aware Bradley replaced their head coach 3 years ago and Evansville replaced their head coach this year? Mr. Bell is it true a highly recommended former SIU basketball player could have been available this year, but you decided to retain hinson? Mr. Bell are you aware that hinson is the only SIU head basketball coach since 1944 to coach 6 years and not win a conference title and/or play in an NAIA/NCAA D-2/NCAA D-1/NIT post season tournament?

I like the possibility of a better season next year, but SIU Athletics needs to strive to reduce injuries and improve fitness.
Look at Loyola, how many of those players missed a day in the gym lifting weights?
Like when Bryan Mullins was at SIU, strength training and diet play huge in the overall health of a squad. as back in the dark ages(pre internet) when I was in high school and our Swimming coach forced us to lift weights, we whined, but come the end of the season at State you could tell who the guys were on our team, we were more defined and stronger, netting us second in state.
Since then, one thing I have always looked at since then was the overall physic of a team, it shows how much work they put in outside of their training, or how hard they work at being better. (I am not talking about Josh Warren running laps around the lake, but that is the type of activities that make the Salukis better)
