I've said before that I am a numbers guy. Sorry if these bore you!
Hinson's worst KenPom computer rating in Springfield was 114 in 2002. He was fired in 2008 at #89.
Hinson's best KenPom computer rating in Carbondale was 135 last season. We sit at #149 right now.

For 7 years in, that's not a good number.
To all the Koolaid drinkers who said this was going to be our year. We warned you not to get your hopes up. Hinson's "best team ever" is now 9-9 overall and 2-3 in a weak-ass conference. Are you ready for a change yet??
Bump. Make that 9-10 and 2-4 after the home loss to last-place Bradley. Even the most die-hard Hinson apologists must realize this guy is a fraud by now.
You aren't likely to move many of the remaining hold outs. They personally like Barry, people expect too much, he's done a good job, etc. Saw it with Lowery, saw it with Herrin, saw it to a lesser extent with Van Winkle and Gottfried. Some people just won't let go.
Craving a McBride Special!
We have just two wins against teams better than #205 in the rankings.
Just listened to Hucky on his pregame for tonight's game. Kinda felt sorry for him, he was taking all the blame for the team's play. Even said didn't know if he would be coach here next year. Just remember who you are listening too a BBQ salesman!!!!!

I'd be careful, it's all part of the con. He and only he is responsible for his lot here. No one else.

Feels like this might be the case for all 8 Hucky years. Hucky has made a living off beating up on the bad most of the time and getting blown out by the good
Oh, and HUCKY with his best team ever is a game behind the great Walter McCarty at Evansville.

You do know McCarty , besides having a long NBA career, was an assistant for the Celtics under Brad Stevens for the last 5 years (a decent coach), the Pacers, and Louisville (Pitino). I'd take him over Hinson any day of the week. I'll be surprised if he doesn't do good things at Evansville.
in his first year with no talent:
Evansville 67 Loyola 48
Evansville 89 Ball State 77
Murray State 66 Evansville 64

Both new coaches in the MVC (DeVries at Drake and McCarty at Evansville) have had very impressive first years considering the hands they were dealt.
I say retain Beane, hire Kid Kent Williams-

Yes, and it's the latter that he played for that makes me very suspicious of his methods. He has yet to prove himself as a good coach. We will see if everything Evansville does is on the up and up. A lot of assistants have failed has head coaches.
Plus, there is no excuse for a first year head coach taking "less talent" and making it better than the "best team" of a guy with about 18 years of head coaching experience. Barry was an assistant to the great Bill Self, does that automatically make Barry a great coach?
Was Barry an assistant coach of Bill Self’s ? I thought he was the DOBO at Kansas? Maybe Barry was an assistant with Self at Oral Roberts?
Yes. Barry was the DOBO at Kansas. Barry was an assistant to Self at ORU and replaced him as head coach there when Self went to Tulsa.
A post from Heff: Barry Hinson’s other quote was about the comeback, and it was kind of sad and kind of uplifting at the same time: “I think everybody left here happy tonight. Even the guy that yelled at me ‘Go get your U-Haul.’ ” 😀
Whoever yelled this should get a game ball -- or at least a bag of Cheetos. Did anyone see MSN at the game?
I'm not sayin' -- I'm just sayin'!
