Anyone listen to Lansing saying how Hinson has gotten a raw deal from the Media? Is this guy serious?!?
I did not hear it. I now dislike Mr. Lansing

I'll cut Lansing some slack for that remark. After all, it's in the interest of all the MVC coaches for Hucky to keep his job so SIU remains mired in (at best) mediocrity.
(Inflammatory political snark)

No reason to dislike Greg at all. Coaches stick together in all kinds of weather. Very rarely do you hear one coach say another should be fired. Even in the Pitino scandals, the Addidas scandals, not many coaches got out in front and threw their bretheren under the bus. No big story here.

I am guessing that Lansing is a little raw about how he thinks he is being treated in the Terre Haute media.
"The media" is being kind to Hinson. Listen to any TV broadcast. Hefferman is asking fair questions that are soft if anything.
Lansing should stay in his own lane.

I don’t dislike him...just thought it was odd that he did that unprompted. Of course most coaches don’t go out and lobby for others to get canned, but they also don’t trash the media unprompted about a more than fair critique. He touted the 2nd, 4th, and 3rd place finishes the last few years as if that was something for the fans to be happy about after 7 years. I guess compared to ISU blue that may be an accomplishment but that does not satisfy most people here. Part of it for sure is the benefit of having Hinson in the league so SIU never gets back to what it used to be and the other likely about his own career thus far. The Southern in general has given more than favorable coverage to him.

Yep ... if anything, Hinson and his booster buddies owe Hefferman and Winkeler a dozen roses apiece on Valentine's Day for the ultra-soft coverage he has received while getting nothing done for seven years and counting. Only very recently when it's gotten so painfully obvious that a change is overdue have those guys shown a (faint) journalistic pulse.
Lansing has four post-season appearances at Indiana State during the same period. Second, third and fourth place finishes don't mean a thing if they are not accompanied by post-season bids. Power-rankings in the 170 range don't cut it with one of the most experienced teams in the country.
Lansing embarrassed himself. Unsolicited attacks on local media unless defending himself is out of bounds. It should draw him a 1 game suspension the same as criticizing a ref. I bet hucky put him up to it because he wouldn't even look up from the table while he did it. Theres a word for that. Go back to Terre Haute and worry about getting your team out of the basement. Stop worrying about what Todd writes. Punk move.

I watched video of that absurd postgame press conference with Lansing. What a joke. If he thinks Hinson is being treated poorly/unfairly by local media, he is sadly mistaken. It is quite the opposite actually. Most folks know that.
Where can that press conference be found?

Hmmm, must be a relative.

Dr. Hahn was my logic professor at SIU. I’m pretty sure he wouldn’t defend doing the same thing over and over while expecting different results.
Vaya con dios, Saluki Wilson.
Same here. I had forgotten about Dr. Hahn, but he is still around the university. He's been here a very long time! Two of the most colorful professors I had at SIU came from the philosophy department.
I had Dr. Hahn for the general studies Moral Decisions class in the spring of '83. Great class in a lot of ways - his lectures were always interesting. The RA session stunk - the TA was your proto-typical extreme left-leaning future Prof type....he didn't seem to like stats, data & hard facts, but in the end he was fair in grading the papers due & I still got a 'A' out of the course.
Dr. Hahn earned his PhD from Yale and either his Master's or Bachelor's from Yale too; and IIRC he was also a Connecticut native.
I had Dr. Shedler (sp?) for GSC-208 Intro to Logic (or whatever its proper course title); I still have the text book written by Shedler (guess I could go look at the spine to check the spelling if I wasn't so lazy right now.)
