Let's beat this dead horse some more. He was saved on a promise of winning big. Not only did he not win, he has fallen out of the good graces of the AD. Plus the chancellor who saved him is gone. Also we would likely have to commit to a multi year contract because of the near total rebuild next year. It would make no sense to do otherwise.

You are wrong he is finished
morris is always wrong. that's what makes him so right.

What is frustrating is that this year was another wasted year. If he would have been let go last year, a new coach may have been able to improve this team. I feel like there is some talent on this team that's being wasted. That is all on the current head coach.

I really hope so too. I really want to reflect upon how wrong I was about the administrations feelings on this. Were I in charge, DB and BM would have been been our coaches years ago.

No one believed he would ever win big. The donor(s) wanted him as the coach more than they wanted to win. He was only supposed to be here for 2 to 3 years.

Your post contains three sentences.
Sentence #1 is, I think, your opinion...and perhaps the opinion of some others. But I can assure you that those who made the decision to hire Hinson did not share your opinion (at the time he was hired). Those decision-makers did not (and do not) want to see failure (or even mediocrity) in MBB at SIU.
You present sentence #2 as fact. I say BS. Prove me wrong...using facts and information about said donors. Sentence #2, the way you present it...is simply "Fake News" (notice my caps!?). Again, I can assure you the donors enjoy their post-game meets with certain SIU staffers/coaches much more after victories--and so do the staffers/coaches.
Same with sentence #3. BS again. Prove that it is not Fake News.
(1) US COVID-19 statistics (February 29, 2020-June 16, 2020): 2,124,000 reported cases and 115,052 deaths
(2) Donald Trump (June 15, 2020) told a group of senior citizens that there would be very few cases of COVID-19 if the US stopped its testing and contact tracing: "If we stop testing right now, we'd have very few cases, actually."
(3) Donald Trump [(Jan 20, 2020), when asked if he's worried about a pandemic]: “No. Not at all. And we have it totally under control. It’s one person coming in from China, and we have it under control. It’s — going to be just fine.”

don't you know that we offer 5 year contracts with built in raises to those we expect to be here 2 years? Pshaw.

sentence 1 - what in BHs career would lead one to believe winning big was in his wheelhouse?
sentence 2 - donors stepped in to save him last march/april and it wasn't to ensure winning success.
sentence 3 - his role was to get an imaged talented squad into the tourney, bh to leave, and someone to take over.

What is the word on the donors? Are they now okay with the move too? or is Kill just basically saying he does not care if they're okay with it?
I cannot say about bigger donors, but the smaller ones are pulling out faster than highschool kids hearing the garage door open.

By pulling out, you mean wallets, right? I’m no large donor by any stretch but I have the SIU Foundation page bookmarked for the day Barry Hinson is no longer head coach at SIU. I’m sure this will upset certain people more out there (you know who you are) but so be it.
PS - today’s development with BOT members getting pushed out is good for business, and business is about to pick up.

As a State's Attorney, I sure would love to go to court in a case where you are representing the defense!

I was not a large donor, but a donor just the same. I cut ties with the school in part over the Athletic Department and in part over the way the school has been run. I will consider coming back once Hinson has been fired.
Don't kid yourself on the BOT. This Governor just signed a bill that is essentially a tax on the lower and middle income folks in Illinois, the $15 minimum wage. Rich stains like Pritzker don't pay it, people who shop at Aldis and Wal Mart and eat at McDonalds will. So I doubt you will see trustees who have a clue.
