The questions I would normally be asking aside, I hate this for Thik. He’s a good dude. I hate it when good things happen to bad people.

Yeah that does suck sometimes but I don't think that's what you meant.  😎

I'm not optimistic about Thik coming back and we saw what not having an adequate back-up for Pippen does--ie, the overtime period against ISU red: their center went wild when Kavion fouled out--too bad for us

Never did see any official release that Bol had the season ending knee injury repaired anytime during the season.

Not that I know anything, but if you were SIU, would you have paid for a voluntary surgery for a player in March that would allow him to heal in time to transfer to another school in May?

With Bol enrolled in summer classes at SIU there is less likely a chance that he would transfer.  It appears to me that with SIU delaying the procedure on Bol's knee, it allowed Bol to keep his transfer options open through his academic Senior year without a surgery cost to SIU.   Also, the question mark on Bol's knee injury may have kept other programs from recruiting him away from SIU.   Just my humble opinion.

Throw my conspiracy theory out the window!   It appears Bol did have surgery last fall after the first injury.

Yeh he did have a november operation. No info on it but why the first operation didn't do the job. Maybe he re-injured it recently

They'll be really careful with Bol going forward, but I'd lay money on it that he'll be ready to go by the time October/November rolls around. I've no solid basis for feeling that way, just a suspicion that this latest episode isn't too serious.

Just so he's ready for the NCAAs in March.

I'm sure someone will be able to scarf up enough money for him to buy a ticket.

My favorite sports name of all time is the current qb for North Dakota State -- Easton Stick.  Does anyone think he comes from a baseball family?

I'm not sayin' -- I'm just sayin'!

Hinson now says Bol will not be 100% all year. He will play part time and will only practice once or twice a week. Disappointing for Bol and team.

Definitely disappointing for all parties, and also begs the question of whether even more setbacks are in store. If a couple procedures and months of rest aren't enough to bring him back to health, there's obviously something severely wrong.

Subpar depth will likely plague this team for a second straight year if Bol is limited or out. The starting 5 is solid, but there isn't much beyond them in terms of reliable subs, particularly if they are actually intending to redshirt most/all of the freshman class.

Hinson has slow walked bad news before.

Not saying this is happening now, but it is something we have to watch for. If local media is reading this... time to start digging.
