I was so impressed by the tenacity & "not giving up" spirit of this team. These gentlemen fought right to the end. We lost the last two games but we were in it to the very end. You didn't break, you gave it your all. What more could we ask for? We are young & hungry. Well done Saluki's, you made us proud. Now go out there & kick butt & take names ….

I just saw and watched the video. I still believe that Lowery, both in his salary demands and the type of ME players he recruited, were the downfall of this program and yet Hinson gets all the blame.  That being said, I think it's time I bury the axe.  I loved hearing what he had to say.  I also love that Mullins is bringing back former players who can speak to the team about the tradition and WINNING.   With that, I will do my absolute best to not speak poorly regarding Lowery in the future.  More importantly, GO DAWGS !!!!

There is plenty of blame for both of them. Hinson was an awful hire

Also, the part Lowery emphasized about bringing the old players, coaches back is so important.  People don't realize Hinson was brought in to wipe away the past.  Former Salukis did not feel welcome. I have talked to several who told me that.  Hinson and admin wanted to cut ties with the past, including Lowery.  You can see how much it means to CLO to be back.  The message he delivered was powerful.  Number 1 way to build a program is to make it a family, old and new.  Bryan certainly makes all Salukis feel welcome and at home.  CLO makes it so obvious when he says Bryan is doing it the right way.  He knows what has gone here for 7 years, he gets it and hes 100% correct.

Fact, bbbq was told to cut all tieds to the passed.  Every1 on campus who got hierd when Cheech and Chong was the chancelor had to pledge loyalty to her.

mario was the only administreter on campus who reported direct to cheng that wasnt "let go."  that includes every vice chancelor and colege dean.

Lowery is well aware that former decision makers down to Hinson had no desire for excellence. They didn't care about what he was trying to maintain and further build on the heels of Weber/Painter. Self-serving, selfish people that didn't truly care about SIU, nor the communities standards for our school. That's why we were force fed dumbed-down expectations for years.

Say what you will about Lowery. I'll likely agree with most of it. He made plenty of mistakes, but the guy had a burning desire to see SIU succeed at the highest level. I can't say that for anyone associated with the prior era.

On my part, I feel like some fence building was accomplished. I feel less hostile toward CLO.
