Just going to throw an observation out. It seemed Lance was OC and trying to do too much a lot of times tonight. At one point he was taken out of the game and appeared to have an animated exchange with Brendan. Reading Lance’s body language, he seemed annoyed when he got pulled after a few out of control plays. Next point: we missed Ben on how many plays that he was open….is it an honest miss or is there something more there? Just observations and with these guys being 18-20 somethings it might be nothing or is there some friction in the program that we don’t know about?

LJ gets sped up on offense very often it seems to me. Doesn't pass when he should and then passes when he shouldn't. Probably taken out to get him to game speed. Unaware of any friction but no doubt these guys play with passion and tempers flare occasionally.
March on triumphantly!

Don't mistake passion for anger. Good players and good coaches disagree and exchange words often, if they don't something is wrong.
Gotta win on Saturday first, then Tuesday!! 🙂
SIU is very likely to play the loser of Northern Iowa and Missouri State on Friday in St. Louis unless Loyola loses at Northern Iowa and another game. Drake-Bradley are almost locked into the 4-5 game.

Go Missouri State! Haha what a game. This one was a fun one. Wish I could've gotten to Carbondale last night.
"I liked our competitive spirit (in the second half)," Wardle said. "There was no option, though. They better have come out or I would have gone 13, 15 deep. We played better in the second half and we had an opportunity.
"In the second half ... they rode my spirit, put it that way. My competitive spirit got us back in the game. I told them they would let us back in. I thought we were there. Bottom line 17 turnovers ... and they shot 15 more free throws than us. You're never going to win a road game with those two stats."
Quote I read from Wardle in the PJ Starr story on the game last night (link to article below). I don't think I've read a more arrogant quote from a coach..."My competitive spirit got us back in that game" yeah the players had nothing to do with it, sheesh.

There's no doubt Lance Jones is an amazing talent. However, for SIU to win at a consistently high level during his time here, he will have to grow and mature in his decision-making within the offense and tempo of the game.

If you were at the game, you heard the fans calling to take him out. He was given "credit" for 6 turnovers, but actually it should have been more. Some of his passes were uncatchable and he didn't see wide open teammates several times. He's usually a good shooting guard and great defender, but no point guard.

He said something similar a year or two back. Just as arrogant and idiotic. For the life of me I can't remember what it was.
There are some classy coaches in the MVC. Wardle is definitely not one of them.
You can tell Wardle is a dbag just by looking at him. I'd take no greater pleasure in any other coach and team tanking as I would for he and Bradley.

You forgot to mention that he made a couple of absolutely great passes Reis and Watson were gaga over. Reis said a couple of those TOs were passes that should have been handled. Forgot to subtract the 3 steals. Forgot to mention he held Roberts, the Bradley guard the NBA scouts are all over, to 11 points.
Glass half empty I guess.
