Agreed. The casual fan may not see the significance here. If SIU can win this game they will have a very good chance at finishing in a 3 way tie atop the Valley AND all but lock down a Thursday bye.I'm very disappointed in the ticket sales so far. Looking at the ticket website there looks to be approximately 2700 tickets still available, not including student tickets. This means as of right now there would only be about 5600 tickets sold if the dawgpound is packed! My best guess right now would be 6k-6500 announced attendance after ticket sales over the next couple days online and walk up, and that's assuming a good student crowd, which we did not have the last time we played on an early Sunday afternoon. Unless things change drastically in the next 2 days this won't be anywhere near a sell out!

We'll see how it shakes out, and hopefully they do brisk sales these next few days, but I'm not shocked they may fall (well) short of a sellout. Painful as it is, the fan base has taken somewhat of a hit over this extended 15-16 year drought, not to mention the shrinking student/regional population to draw from. And, even though this game still matters for the reasons mentioned above, I do think the way SIU played last week at Drake was a buzzkill for some fans.
That said, still excited about this one, and even if it's only in the 6Ksh attendance range, the building will be hopping.
Hopefully ticket sales will improve but the main thing would be getting the crowd into early and be rowdy and make it a home court advantage
I think we'll get decent walk-up traffic.
I am also a bit disappointed in the available tickets. Even Barry got a couple of sellouts without a real shot at winning anything.
Good lord. Shut the hell up. If you can't get behind a team in the thick of it with 3 games left then get lost.Continue with the same formula:
Chuck up a boat load of 3s.
Avoid offensive rebounds.
Play Domask 39.5 minutes.
Sit Ebube.
Get behind early.
Reload the guns for a barrage of 3’s.
Hope for the best.
Continue the same formula:
Be resilient
Be stout defensively
Find a way even when shots aren't falling
This a 20 win team (12-5) and people still want to just bitch.
I am just trying to lighten the mood around here. But seriously, they can’t fall behind, shoot endless 3s, not rebound, and expect to beat Bradley.
It would be a nice time so see Lance go off on a few 3s. I would also like to see Foster stick a few, though he probably won't see much floor time.
I'm gonna disagree about this. While it would be nice to see Lance hit a few, i'd rather see him focus on driving the lane, dishing out assists, and playing good smart defense. If i don't see Lance attempt a single 3pt shot in this game, and he still gets 20 points, then i'd be ecstatic! 😋 GO DAWGS!It would be a nice time so see Lance go off on a few 3s. That 02 team was so good. They could beat you on both ends of the floor any given night. Of the best of the best in more recent SIU history, I'd give the 02 team a slight edge over the 07 squad.
Obviously, the guys showing up for the reunion, its well remembered what they brought to the table, and for those of you who remember, Rolan Roberts was an absolute freak; dunked everything he could get his hands on and was a human eraser. Without question, he'd be in the Saluki HOF had he been at SIU for the duration of his career instead of just that one season. Fun memories.

Really good offensive team in 02 but they didn't play D like the 06 bunch. Roberts (87) had a few more blocks than Falker (75) but Falker was a better rebounder. I'd take the 06 bunch I think.
Too bad Roberts didn't play four years here.
Bradley is favored by 1.5
06/07 team ended #11 in the final coaches poll and was one of the best defensive teams I have ever seen. Should have beaten Kansas to go to the elite 8, but the refs had other ideas. I loved the 01/02 team, but would definitely give the 06/07 team the edge. That 02 team was so good. They could beat you on both ends of the floor any given night. Down to about 1,700 tickets left not counting student. Like BBQ use to say....bring a friend, bring a neighbor.
I came a long way not to see a sell out!
I hope your estimate is better than mine. I just looked at the ticket site and estimated that we had about 2300 left to sell,. Like you said, not counting student section 105 that holds about 900.Down to about 1,700 tickets left not counting student. Like BBQ use to say....bring a friend, bring a neighbor.

Glad you made it. Thanks for making the journey!
