The 06-07 team ended #11 in the final coaches poll and was one of the best defensive teams I have ever seen. Should have beaten Kansas to go to the elite 8, but the refs had other ideas. I loved the 01/02 team, but would definitely give the 06/07 team the edge.
I was at the game in San Jose and was sitting right behind Belushi. We were a Final Four team. We would have beaten UCLA. They were undisciplined and selfish.
People tend to blame the refs for a loss. It took me about ten years to have the stomach to watch the game. Even the CBS guys were talking about how bad we were getting screwed and replays confirmed it.
I hated we got screwed and lost but that was an incredible experience.
I think you can trust it as it came from inside the department. I am just so excited that we are relevant again to be worth the trip. Now we have to re-teach the fans how to make that place hell on opposing teams again. The smaller capacity won't be quite as loud as when we would squeeze 10,000 in there, but it still can be a very loud and special place. We all get upset from time to time here but that's passion behind winning again.I hope your estimate is better than mine. I just looked at the ticket site and estimated that we had about 2300 left to sell,. Like you said, not counting student section 105 that holds about 900.Down to about 1,700 tickets left not counting student. Like BBQ use to say....bring a friend, bring a neighbor.
I came a long way not to see a sell out!
Glad you made it. Thanks for making the journey!
Let’s do this shit
destroy the evil vermin that has crawled out of the pit of hell that is Peoria
@resaluki-88 Amen brother, we all know we really won that game 😉 killer team for sure, Floorburn U at it's finest.
Still think they’ll have 6,500+ there today, which basically feels like a sellout in the smaller setup.
There is literally NOTHING going on today.

They’re the ones that can get us where we haven’t been in 15 years.

If the 1700 available seats are true, that should put us at 6,600+ already. Hopefully the students show up.
Addressing the attendance would ticket prices affect the numbers and also would it being Sunday at 1 have an effect attendance as people trying to get out of church would a Saturday night game or later start time on Sunday make a difference just some food for thought I would welcome comments see you at the arena

Gotta give them a reason to show up. And it certainly isn’t basketball.
Free pizza is fine, but they need to do even more. Surprised today wasn’t another balloon drop or something.
That was amazing they got 7,100 to show up for that.

Are you trying to will that into existence or do you really believe that? SIU has had a hard time beating much lesser teams by more than a basket or two, let alone a team that is probably better than they are. I think Vegas has this one right, in that it will be a tight game. That being said, I really, really, REALLY hope YOU are right !!!!!!!!!!!!
I’m wondering about Dawg Pound attendance. The last Sunday game had the worst showing of the year and this one is an hour earlier.
