This is Paul Lusk 2.0, unfortunately. He just doesn't seem to be ready for a D1 head coaching position. I'm very sad about that.
you seem so sad about it… can someone get the buffoon up out of here. What is this a Barry Hinson burner?
My vote is to give him 2 more years since he is a first time HC……..but the AD needs to make it clear that really soon he will hire an proven offensive mined assistant before summer.
you guys gotta stop harping on the offense… it just makes you look like fools. The offense has improved drastically.
I suggest this is only year 4 as covid took a big bite out of development for Bryan and the staff a short season on top of things being in disarray in my opinion hurt but you have to learn and for those who don't think he can coach I think tonight against ISU blue Bryan did a masterful job with foul trouble keeping his team in it also making adjustments during the game not to mention scoring on an inbounds play to end the half
@saluki-4-life you obviously haven’t watched all the games this year if you’re satisfied with this offensive scheme.
Conference games are always harder to score because of scouting and familiarity unless you are physically better than your opponent just look as scores across conferences and look at yesterday against the trees defense stood up made adjustments from the first game and made them look shaky also how many wide open shots not go in for Southern

enlighten me… what’s wrong with the “scheme”. Be specific.
I’ll just start, you can rebuttal. The offense scheme is a modern and simple spread offense designed to set screens, get switches, attack mismatches and then either get to the rim or draw help for penetrate and kick to step in 3’s. A lot of read and react and NBA style iso ball after isolating a weaker defender or a mismatch. It’s what about 95% of college and NBA offenses run. Now, there are sets we run and they work very well. However, you don’t run sets every single play, you just can’t. In fact the league is so well scouted when we or other teams run sets the coaches on the bench are literally calling out the actions as they happen. The style tends to be a bit slower for us but we have this year started to initiate offense much quicker and play on the break much more often looking to run after miss and makes. We run some really nice high middle ball screens, Rupert and Hensley are really good at slipping and X makes good decisions off of it. Ebube doesn’t do it as much we tend to let him post a little more and try to get it to him down low. There isn’t one thing wrong with the “scheme” although we could stand to make a few more shots… at the end of the day though, that’s what it boils down to, making and missing.
Our offensive efficiency is 84 in the nation… 84… a few spots above lowly Kansas… Bill Self, also clueless.

For me it's not about the scheme (whatever the eff that means). The "scheme" is the big picture. As you say, most programs run something similar. Including teams that suck balls and teams that are great. I'm sure Houston runs something similar to what we do; they're just better at it, with better personnel. On a more local level, same for Drake.
Why does Drake own us? Better execution of that "scheme."
And maybe better personnel decisions. Hensley is not a five. Neither is D'Amico.
On two different post-game interviews, Mullins admitted that Ebube could have been useful beyond the few minutes he had played. Just . . . weird. Why?
(Inflammatory political snark)

It would be cool if NCAA tournament bids were issued on that basis. They're not.
But you just keep cherry-picking: eventually BM will be national COY! 😆😆

bud, you need to get a clue. Every single MVC team is in the exact same boat. Win the valley tournament or no bid. This isn’t the mid 2000s. Everyone points out how bad the offense is, the fact is it’s in the top 1/4 of the country. It’s a stale, and false talking point. Drake owns us right now because the coaches kid is a 4 star high major player… that’s literally the difference.

what’s weird about second guessing yourself when things don’t go well? That’s what anyone who is good at what they do does. The big rotation lately has been excellent. Another AWFUL talking point. Troy hasn’t played the 5 in like months. Another AWFUL point. Youre awful at this lol
The scheme is the big picture? You are just doing some word salad now. You have absolutely no idea what you’re looking at. You are just rambling and being a hater to be a hater. Must suck to live life like that. I pity you.
I think the complaint most of us have is that we still often have the mindset of watching the lead guard dribble around for 21 seconds, then start the offense with 9 seconds left and try to make something happen. This has led to so many forced bad shots and even shot clock violations (which is so frustrating). There HAS been some improvement over last year (especially in transition). I just don't think the offensive improvement has been overwhelming.

It's insane the number of times Domask, X, and Jones have bailed SIU out of this the last few years. I don't think we have that guy going into next year right now.
