Ooph That’s not gonna help
pull the f'n plug.
We can't keep doing this.
This crap was not acceptable from BBQ and isn't acceptable now.
I hate to say it but this is absolute garbage.
2007 people. It's now 2024.
It took ISUb just 3 years to get in the top 25 with a guy that hadn't coached a D1 game in his life. 17 years and NOTHING.
I'm tired of waiting. Make the move Austin cause there are no signs that things will get any better.
I don't think one game should be the deciding factor here but I don't get how people can look at this program and think it's trending in a positive direction. I get the argument for a short extension but people threatening to cancel funding to SIU over Mullins is wild.
Saluki fans deserve more than whatever has happened over the last 17 years.
Just give us fans, donors, and the community something. Whether it be Bryan or anyone else. The program needs a winner.
I am still onside with keeping Bryan, but I’ll never understand the people who act like your some kind of traitor if you don’t want him to stay.
Grow up, you snowflakes.
lost the game twice. Calling a timeout to shoot a Trent half court shot. Hilarious what these jokers makeI am still onside with keeping Bryan, but I’ll never understand the people who act like you’re some kind of traitor if you don’t want him to stay.

Was there a good explanation on why Xavier Johnson intentionally fouled for no reason at the end of regulation? I'm sure nobody in the media is gonna ask. Did that come from Mullins or did X do it on his own? Dumbest foul I've ever seen and probably cost them the win.
I’m attaching the caveat that I wouldn’t mind seeing some more staff changes. Jerrace should be safe, the bro might have to go.

Listen you can have issues with Mullins coaching even this game, but his coaching didn’t lose that game down the stretch. Two 90% free throw shooters at the line to close it out…I would have laid money on us winning that with X at the line.

It can be both that and failing to make a double team on Rivera either.

Just listened to the postgame and it sounds like it came from the bench. That ended up being the game.
I can see how one could argue this staff deserves another year or two based on how they outperformed expectations this year.
I wouldn’t have a problem with that.
At the same time, I don’t see how anyone can look at the overall status of the program (past performance, makeup of the staff, recruiting) and have any bit of confidence that things will be better going forward.
The administration is in a tough spot.
@saluki44 Thank God this season is over. He's had his chance to show he can coach in the Valley. He can't. Time to look elsewhere. Lost three out of the last four games. They should have been playing their ball and they weren't.
The administration is in a tough spot.
Yes, they are. I said after the blown lead in the first Bradley loss that the administration would have a tough decision to make at season's end. I figured at that point that we'd either collapse or really get it together the rest of the way, and there'd be some clarity on which way the administration should go. Neither really happened, although the way the season ended (blowout loss to a contender, non-competitive home loss to a solid team, OT loss to the No. 11 seed in Arch Madness) is not a good look.
I think the biggest thing that hurts Bryan with the fanbase and (maybe) the administration is that he had 4 years of Marcus Domask and Lance Jones and never got to a point of being competitive in a Arch Madness semifinal and to see them being incredibly successful in B1G programs.
I think he did an admirable job this year, exceeding expectations and getting people excited for the program again after the end of Chris Lowery and dealing with Barry Hinson. I guess the question that needs to be answered is, is this as far as Bryan Mullins can take this program? Is there another gear he can go or do we need to look elsewhere?
Times are different now compared to when most of us started following college sports. College athletes are now year-to-year free agents. Heck, it will probably end up that these players will become employees of the University within the foreseeable future. The one thing that we know that's true now. The roster that's in Carbondale today will not be the same roster that will arrive when school starts next August. That's a given. And that's with or without Bryan Mullins as the head coach.
I think I am like a lot of people on here. I'm conflicted. You can't have sat in the Arena between 2006 and 2009 and not marvelled at the grit and determination shown by #10. When he was hired, we all hoped that he would be able to use that same grit and determination to bring the program back to success in the MVC. And now, 5 years later, we have questions.
