With a clear eye....6 assists won't usually win a team game.  We don't have a "closer" that can be counted on to come through at the end and carry the team to a W.  Poor shooting in last minutes of both games.  Issues we watched on the floor last year and expected to be fixed.  I'm not down on team.  Just surprised that an "experienced" team has these flaws.

Sorry just get frustrated when people give up on them so soon. Give it a few more games and see what happens.

I get where you’re coming from, but if we want an at-large, my best guess is we need to win most if not all the remaining non conference games and also be first in the Valley regular season. The days of mid majors having any margin of error are long over.

Oh yea, cause these same deficiencies are only two games old haha.  Literally been watching this same scenario for 6+ years now.  The guy isn't a good coach.

I certainly haven't given up on this team - we'll win a lot of MVC games. We're not going to the NCAA so the NIT would be an improvement over the past. I'd certainly watch it.

That said, I want Hinson fired. I think we'll suck next year, can't stand the self-promoting BS, and just don't think he'll put in the effort to recruit.

Fine then. Give up on them after two games against ranked teams when we didn’t even get blown out. That’s fine. Won’t miss ya at the games.

This was most certainly a blowout loss - the Bulls were up 62-46 with two minutes to go.  SIU scoring the last seven points of the game can't hide the fact that this game was over midway thru the second half.

This game was HUGELY important for those NCAA at-large chances.  How many shots do you get to beat a ranked team on your home court?  Now, things can all get hunky dory again should SIU go to Buffalo and win there - otherwise, this was a great opportunity wasted, and a game that wasn't in doubt the last 8 minutes of the game.

Dont get me wrong, the Salukis should smoke the next two opponents.  If those games are close, we are in trouble.

As someone who is usually passing out the Kool Aid, this is an NCAA or bust season.

Yeah, this is year 7, the best team Hinson has had here.  He's never made the tournament in his 17 years as head coach.  Next year will be another rebuilding year.  If he can't make the tournament this year, he never will.

People are just freaking BAFFLED at the "negativity" on the board toward BH and wondering why threads always deterioate into Barry-bashing.

Huh.

Such a MYSTERY!!!

If we had lost a close one and it was just due to Buffalo beating us, well, that sort of thing just happens sometimes. I’m not so much disappointed with the loss. I am disappointed with how it happened. We should almost always be down to the wire against very good teams at home. That wasn’t what happened.

I do not have the energy or the desire to discuss Hinson anymore.  We are an ok to decent team, that would not be a problem if it werent for how deep into the rebuild we are and the fact we have a veteran laden team which means next year will likely be a massive step back.  That makes ok to decent harder to stomach IMO and that's why you guys are going to see a lot of meh attitudes even if the record and performance stay at a solid level.

We had a descent inside game with Pippen in, too bad refs took him out of the game (questionable calls).  Offense looked bewildered without him.  Barry should have rolled the dice particularly in the second half  early and let him play, but by the time he went back in momentum had already shifted.

Second year of Bartley and wondering when the SLU phenom is going to show up.  Some bad passing and thought he was suppose to shoot the lights out with the 3 ball ???

I agree.  This was are ticket to an at large bid.  Only possibility now is to beat Buffalo away, beat Nevada (if we play them), win the rest of nonconference games, and limit MVC losses to no more than 4, make it to Sunday at tourney.

We’ve seen this song and dance now for 7 years. 17 if you include Hinsons entire resume.

Pippen's 1st offensive foul was a no brainer, he dropped and lead with his front shoulder (was there flopping going on, I thought so on one of Cook's offensive fouls .   We sure look pretty dribbling the ball though (sorry).  Offense was definitely out of sync.  The only good thing I saw out of Bartley was his willingness to fight for rebounds, which I saw little of from the rest of the team.  McGill show some potential.  Too many sets where we weren't willing to look for a shot to the point of shot clock violations or last second desperation shots.
