I'm just glad Rupert is getting big minutes now.  He's obviously a big contributor to this team.

Clarence is a good player - only a soph. Definitely gives us some inside presence we didn't have last year. He needs big minutes every game.

I love his energy.  He has a bit of an edge as well, but Coach and his teammates seem to be able to reign him in when he gets fired up.  He is still a bit raw, but again only a true Soph so I expect he will only get better.

Good game by Lance. Good minutes by Clarence too. Nice to see Jones shooting the ball better last couple of games.

Jones 19 pts, 2 stl, 3 asts, 4 rbs

Rupert 8 pts, 8 rbs, 3 blks in 24 minutes

Another game where Domask and Jones are your only players in double figures, scoring 36 of the team's 63 points.  There's also the lingering problem of turnovers - 14 more tonight.

It's a W, but that's all this one is, as Chicago State is about as bad a D-1 team as it gets.  That school has seen a grand total of one winning season since 1986.  I'm honestly surprised the college hasn't dropped the program.

Next game - another cupcake comes to town, as it's another SWAC team on the slate - Alabama A&M is currently 359th out of 363 D-1 teams in RPI.  Heck, they make Chicago State look good.  😉

Unless they added an extra game, they play at SEMO next Wednesday

Wait... you may be right.. On Warrennolan.com, it lists Alabama A&M at home on Monday first, but on SIU's official page, there's no mention of that game at all.

Was Alabama A&M originally on the schedule but dropped?

I'm not seeing that game.  I thought they're next game was against SEMO on the road, which is going to be a tough game and quite easily a loss based on the way this team has played this season.

I love the edge Rupert plays with. To be honest, this team has needed that. They have a bunch of nice kids, which is great, but a dash of feistiness can be useful. He’s been a really good addition.

I hope you're right bc I need every win I can get in my college hoops pool, but neither team has this proposed game on their schedule.

My bad... I saw on Warrennolan.com that SIU was playing Alabama A&M next Monday, but that's an error that hasn't been updated yet.

This was pretty ho hum. As mentioned, nice to see Jones knock down a bunch of free throws for a change. The veterans did their jobs but it was a missed opportunity to get more minutes for guys like Ferguson and Wonders before the schedule gets serious. Also wish they wouldn’t have risked Domask’s gimpy ankle, especially up double figures with a minute to go.

I don't think so but would have gladly swapped that game in for the D2 game they played.  Alabama A&M plays at Illinois tomorrow so wonder if it was originally scheduled and scrapped.
