Adding Northern Kentucky, Dallas Baptist( if they go D-1 in basketball),Ut Arlington and SF Austin to the list .?
Is Dallas Baptist good at other sports at their current level? I know that they are very good in baseball.

I think Northern Kentucky makes a lot of sense. Decent market (Cincinnati) and a new arena. 3 hours from Terre Haute, 3.5 hours from Evansville, 4 hours from Valpo, 5 hours from St Louis so it's not too far off the beaten path.
I don't think any of the Texas schools are good enough to justify the increased travel.
The goal of virtually every D1 team is to make it to the Dance. The System is only going to allow X number of mid-majors to dance, period. I see no value added by simply having more teams in a conference that is only going to get so many in, no matter what. If it ain't broke...

Yes this
I do not want to go above 10. I was just throwing out names for if a team left.
orrrr the unlikely scenario of Bradley getting thrown out 😬
If they are talking Texas it would have to be SF Austin Maybe Abilene ? Dallas Baptist moving up ?

The article mentions that a school near a major airport lessens the cost. Think that rules out Abilene and SFA which are both sort of in the middle of nowhere. Dallas Baptist would make sense there.
I still think there's too many good options in the Midwest to head out to Texas. Belmont and Murray St make too much sense. If Belmont doesn't want in then you can go for a Milwaukee, Cleveland State, Northern Kentucky near high population areas for the TV deal to make up for the Murray State add.
Oh yea that part lol
nevermind 😁

Murray Kanetucky better hurry up with that international airport. Belmont makes sense for the same reason that Loyola made sense. In the current period of insanity Nashville is the numero uno metro growth area in the country.

Pretty sure every MVC fanbase would make a trip to Nashville to see their team. I've been to a Belmont game and it's a similar facility to Loyola's. Pretty sure Belmont has the money to upgrade facilities if need be like Loyola has done.
In terms of Murray, it's close enough to the other Valley schools where the airport isn't a big deal. Evansville, SIU, Indiana State, Illinois State, Bradley, Missouri State and (theoretically) Belmont would be within driving distance.

Murray has a huge fanbase for a school in a low major conference. If they are any good at all, I'd think that their fanbase would be excited to be in the MVC as well, especially early on (we will see if it sticks after they don't win 24 easy games every year). Even without a tv market, I would think that they would bring a lot of benefit to the conference. Not to mention, a local rivalry for us.

If you’ve ever watched the OVC Championship in Evansville during a normal season, half the Ford Center is yellow. They’d be a huge piece for Arch Madness growing attendance.
MVC West: New Mexico St, West Texas A&M, Tulsa, UNI, Mo. st., Drake
MVC East: SIU, ISU, InSU, Bradley, Murray St., Valpo

I was at midcourt, 2nd row when Ja Morant took over in the championship against Belmont. At the time, I lived within walking distance from the Ford Center in Evansville. That place was rocking. That is why I think we should being them and their fans to the MVC, for the reason you just mentioned!
Oh and by the way, that night wasn't half yellow. I'd say there was 8,000-9,000 fans in yellow out of the 10,000 capacity.
I am fairly certain Ja Morant no longer plays for Murray State.
