I haven't seen anything from him, and he was supposed to be a big part of the team. Any news on when he will return?
Mullins said on an interview with Reis cast is off so he can condition will know more within 2 weeks if the bone is healed to the doctors satisfaction was always 6 to 8 weeks we are in week five
He has had the pins removed and he is running again. Everything is progressing normally, according to one of his teammates who I spoke with this past Saturday.

@dawgbytes He had better have been running this whole time. That includes running his fat ass to classes and not riding some silly battery skateboard or whatever. Hope the kid understands he let his teammates down during this. And to come back out of shape is inexcusable.
I'm not sayin' -- I'm just sayin'!

The major concern for me is the injury being to his dribbling, shooting, and dunking hand. He seems to be a ferocious dunker, which could indeed prove to be an obstacle within the recovery process.
The above being said, it will be a positive step when he does in fact return for the Salukis.
GO DAWGS!

Maybe take it down a couple notches. If a problematic Saluki basketball offcourt incident under Mullins is a scooter blowout on the way to class, we're in pretty great shape on that front. Also guessing Scottie himself is most frustrated to get injured coming off a redshirt year when he was about to get his chance.
From a basketball standpoint, I do worry about the missed development time for a promising but still inexperienced player, as we have seen that Mullins is reluctant to throw young guys into the heat of game action, and especially since it will be conference games by the time he's back in the mix.
He sure looked like he had some upside, though, against Little Rock.
Ha! That is good! Wearing a cast does really suck though. When I was 25, (sober at the time), I walked through a plate glass door. Multiple cuts, including one on the shin to the bone. Doctor cleared me to play ball again about three weeks later and that evening, I break same leg sliding into second base. Had to wear the cast the month of July with my leg itching like hell from stitches. The old saying about an itch you cannot scratch is spot on.
PS- it was a scooter.

A GREAT post in that you note the high potential but aren't putting him in the Saluki HOF just yet. I'm more disappointed in the missed development than any assumption he would have made a huge difference in any of the losses. He showed well for the time he did get in the first game but it was also against a terrible team. That being said, you cannot teach the God given physical abilities that he has.

Evidently it was his own personal electric scooter, which means he'll probably be riding it again. Sure hope not. Riding one of those to class does squat for your conditioning.
One Saturday night this Fall some whippersnapper darn near ran me over - no honk, no warning. Those things haul ... his was not the first injury in town.
I believe Wednesday is when Scottie gets x-rayed and hopefully clearance to play. Obviously will take a while for him to get into the groove.

Even if he is cleared on Wednesday there would be little to no chance for him to play on Thursday since he has not practiced for 6 weeks. Hopefully he will be cleared giving him an outside chance of being ready to play against Murray.I believe Wednesday is when Scottie gets x-rayed and hopefully clearance to play.
