No surprise. Within 10 years all sporting events will have some sort of pay per view. I wonder if the Valley is trying to get a percentage of the $4.99. I would sure hope so.
I'm not sayin' -- I'm just sayin'!

I am sure Espn has this all wrapped up nice and neat that they keep all the money
Well that just keeps me from watching men's basketball at all until Hucky is gone.
So that's a win-win.

I don’t think ESPN+ is going to have the MVC stuff.
Actually, I read the other day that the MVC is one of the conferences included in ESPN+... I have heard it targets more of the non mainstream sports but the article did not say which ones. It definitely said MVC was on in the package though. Whether or not that includes mens basketball I guess we will just wait and see. I hate it but I like watching the games so much (all valley games) that I will probably break down and buy it. From the sound of the article I read it looks as if you can pay month by month. So just basketball season would be like 20 bucks. If you wanted all SIU sports year round I think you can pay 50 a year. Pretty cheap, still annoying.

Well then...damn it.
I'm too much of a junky not to buy it. I'd do it even if I went in on season tix again, just so I could see some of the other Valley games.

Good thing I made the decision to be done until the current clown show is over

Most of us pay ESPN 7+ dollars a month that is taken out of our cable or satellite bills and these clowns want more money. It would be one thing if this was a consequence of ESPN being separated from the cable bundle altogether, but that's not happening.
All this should cause is an acceleration of the current trend to cut the cord. What the US needs to do is see sports debundled from the rest of cable and satellite packages. If I could pay a single monthly fee for all of ESPN, I'd be game for it. The pricing would look at lot like the pricing for Sky Sports in the UK, but I'd be OK with it. I don't really watch much of the cable bundle with the exception of sports, and with services more and more offering pared down cable bundles over the Internet, the days of paying Dish/DirecTV/Comcast $100 or more for TV (not counting Internet of course) should be over and more for more people.
This is about the only TV I watch and my only way to see Saluki events. I'll have to pay up even with the current state of basketball. I watch football, volleyball and occasionally baseball in addition to hoops. It's still cheaper than that brutal streaming package SIU used to offer.

Man, was that ever awful...
