Guaranteed to have a winning MVC record. Very nice achievement, particularly with the Cook injury.
Will the Aces get a win?
They get the Sycamores at home, @ Northern Iowa, and the Turds at home
I hate to be negative and call out a 19 year old kid, but Trent Brown is killing this team offensively.
He plays hard on the defensive end, but he is a major liability on the offensive side of the floor.
Agree. I think BM plays him a lot hoping that great shot we hear about arrives. TB has no confidence in it, because he usually passes up open shots. Needs a game where he hits three or four. He's done that once this year. Hopefully it will arrive eventually. Francois has also shot poorly in conference play - he did hit one tonight. Jones is not a great outside shooter but he has improved! He has those great quick moves to the rim though - 15 pts. Also made 4 - 5 FTs.
I was so impressed how the team handled themselves when the game was "in hand". They didn't try to run up the score or try to bank more points for the books; they showed class & respect to the Aces. Well done gentlemen.
Trent will be okay guys; they are freshmen, cut them some slack. What a wonderful beginning to a new era in Saluki Basketball. I am thrilled.

In his interview earlier this week he mentioned that his weakness in high school was defence and that he's focused on that this year. He no doubt has noticed his lack of scoring as no doubt the coaches have as well. He's a freshman and with the experience gained this season, coaches will help him over the summer. Mullins will have more time to develop the lads when the season is over. A hall of a year so far!!!!!
WOOF!
Just 3 points off the bench tonight. Gotta do better than that.
Since I mentioned all the lows in the Valpo game, would be bad to not mention this team put themselves in the media guide with this one:
7th best shooting half in school history and 8th best shooting game in school history.
SIU held Evansville to just 16 second-half points, the fewest points SIU has allowed in a second half vs. a Division I opponent since 1996.
While I have recently been more accepting of Brown's poor shooting and lack of scoring (or even being a threat), I would remind those that I was hard on him early in the season. He does, however, bring a lot to the table. He is, in my opinion, the best entry passer to the post we have, either to Domask or BB. He plays defense with 100% intensity and knows where he should be - he's a very smart basketball player. I watched Francois lately and he has trouble on the defensive positioning when the ball is being swung around. KD has obvious athleticism but could use some seasoning as well. All this being said, next season, will be time to improve or see more bench for all of these players, if they are still here. Regardless, we are going to have a MUCH deeper bench next season.

I recall a pretty good freshman that played great defense a few... years ago that only averaged 5.5 points a game. Just sayin
Thank you for posting the twitter feed. I wasn't sure how to do it. I've watched that video like 10 times now and each time I get the chills. Love it !

Please don't compare Mullins' freshman year to the one Brown has had. Not comparable in any way.
Going forward, if SIU is going to be a top-100 or better type program, the bench production will need to improve, be it from current underclassmen on the roster or newcomers who are brought in. Mullins and Co. have done an awesome job in Year 1 with the hand they were dealt, but I'm sure they're aware the depth needs to improve, and I'm optimistic that will be the case.
