Id imagine you’d get:
Cook/Jones/Harvey/Domask/Transfer
Jones came in as a 2 guard and multiple people seem to handle the ball in this offense so he wouldn’t totally give up all the point guard duties.
I am aware of the two new freshmen coming to SIU this fall agree with excitement they are generating. Any thoughts about when news may be forthcoming about additional recruits?
WOOF!

Cook shot 34.8% on threes last year, 65.7% FTs - passable but not great. Two years ago shot 38% threes - not bad.
Jones needs to improve those FTs. After a nice 4 - 5 yesterday, just 62.7%.

Jones is shooting 71% from the line since the 2-9 in the Northern Iowa game (8 games).
I noticed Jones showing improvement in the Loyola road game. In the last 11 games starting with the Loyola road game, he’s shooting 50.6% from the field and 42.4% from 3 while averaging 11 points per game.
In the 17 games prior to that, he was shooting 35.6% from the field and 10.7% from 3 while averaging 6.1 points per game.
Credit to Lance and the coaching staff because he’s noticeably gotten better as the season has gone on and when Valley play began. It’s not easy to play point guard as a Freshman too, especially when you’ve never played point guard in your life. It’s pretty clear Jones is very coachable and willing to learn and takes in a lot from the staff. I think we have a special player.
I've been watching basketball longer than I'd like to admit (bc then you'd figure out I'm old-LOL) so sometimes I am a little more opinionated than I am qualified to. That being said, Mullins and his staff's knowledge is exponentially greater than mine. So if they feel TB should be playing 20+ minutes a game and considerably more than others, then I'll have to just defer to his expertise.

I think we have 4 scholarships open for next year (3 assuming Cook comes back). I’m fully expecting some kind of Power 5 transfer that is going to look at what the staff did with Barret Benson this season and want to do something special here. I’d like to see them recruit a big too. I’d expect to get a lot of news once the season ends and the transfers and decommits happen.

Late March/April/May, and possibly even beyond that. I don't think it will be as active as it was last spring when Mullins overhauled most of the roster, but it'll be interesting nonetheless. Adding the right 2-3 pieces could put SIU in legit postseason contention in 2020-21.
I just had a quick peak at the roster and noticed they only list TB at 6’2”...for some reason I had it in my head he was more like 6’4”. So AC and Jones isn’t any different than TB and Jones/AC as far as height is concerned...so we are probably going to have a short front court no matter what.
@cowboydawg I assumed TB's extra minutes were because Jones got in some early foul trouble.

He's definitely improved - shooting more like he did in HS. With his downhill game, he'll get fouled a lot. A big improvement at the line would be nice.
My only problem with TB is scoring. Sometimes we really struggle to score - we need everybody to score a few at least.
Marcus McBarrett can't do it all by himselves!
Doing a little arithmetic. 100 threes at 35% = 105 pts. >> 100 twos at 50%! (I'm a math whiz! 😀 )
so 35% from three is not bad at all!
To have a legit shot at advancing in Arch Madness, we will need someone to step up and be that legit scoring threat off the bench. The doors wide open. Just need someone to burst through it.

I'd be shocked if the starting lineup didn't include any one of those four. There's a whole lot of speed, quickness, shooting and versatility there.
Hard not to be excited thinking of those four playing together next year. Mix in the right post player(s) and you have a legit post-season contender.

You beat me to the punch! I absolutely feel the same way. I cannot believe anyone would even hint that BM is not doing what is best for the team and all of the team’s players, with what he has accomplished this year. We must remember that they ARE freshman, although at least one of them doesn’t play like it. In Bryan I trust.
The advancement and diffusion of knowledge is the only guardian of true liberty.

You can't believe a first year head coach (or any coach for that matter) might not be perfect?? LOL!
I'm positive he's trying to do his best for the team, and he's done a great job so far. Also sure he'd be the first to say, and if you've heard him interviewed by MR after the games you'd know this, that sometimes he could do better. It's a learning process. And hindsight is always 20/20. These things aren't black and white! I'm not about to turn off my brain just because I think BM is doing a great job.
