I've been watching basketball longer than I'd like to admit (bc then you'd figure out I'm old-LOL) so sometimes I am a little opinionated than I am qualified to. That being said, Mullins and his staff's knowledge is exponentially greater than mine. So if they feel TB should be playing 20+ minutes a game and considerably more than others, then I'll have to just defer to his expertise.
You beat me to the punch! I absolutely feel the same way. I cannot believe anyone would even hint that BM is not doing what is best for the team and all of the team’s players, with what he has accomplished this year. We must remember that they ARE freshman, although at least one of them doesn’t play like it. In Bryan I trust.
You can't believe a first year head coach (or any coach for that matter) might not be perfect?? LOL!
I'm positive he's trying to do his best for the team, and he's done a great job so far. Also sure he'd be the first to say, and if you've heard him interviewed by MR after the games you'd know this, that sometimes he could do better. It's a learning process. And hindsight is always 20/20. These things aren't black and white! I'm not about to turn off my brain just because I think BM is doing a great job.
I don’t believe the word “perfect” is in my post. I do believe that Bryan Mullins, who coaches these kids everyday, and who does it for a living, is much more qualified and informed than the any of us arm chair quarterbacks. We all make a living off one another’s ignorance.
The advancement and diffusion of knowledge is the only guardian of true liberty.

"I can't believe anyone would even HINT that BM is not doing what is best for the team" certainly implies perfection. I'm sure the goal of any coach is to do what is best for the team. That doesn't mean they always do the right or best thing. Like I said, it's not black and white and it probably changes game by game.
IMO, TB has not proved he deserves 20 minutes a game for a team that is sometimes offensively challenged, and he's to the point where he's almost afraid to shoot the ball. True ignorance is never questioning authority and letting others do your thinking for you!
He’s been very solid on defense, especially for a freshman his size. 20 minutes isn’t a crazy amount of time to play, and Mullins 100% knows better than any of us on here.
@mr_woogers..."and he's(TB) to the point where he's almost afraid to shoot the ball."
I remember when BM was a tremendous freshman, but I was almost afraid for him to shoot the ball.

Looked up Bryan's stats as a true freshman - he was the starting PG and certainly deserved those minutes:
31.1 minutes/game with 30 starts (second only to Jamaal Tatum at 33.4 mpg)
5.5 ppg on 39.8 % shooting (30% from three) - averaged less than 5 shots per game
led the team in assists with 105 (Tatum had 104)
led the team in steals with 94
60.9% FT - ouch
Best outside shooters on that team were Tony Young (37% threes, 84% FTs) and Matt Shaw. Tatum was 36.5% and only 29% from three. JT was the leading score at 15 ppg, but he also took far more shots than anyone else.
