Um...didn't that hit the top of the backboard?
It looked like it.
Umm, how didn't they rig something up with a cell phone way quicker than they did once the radio feed went down?

Prediction:
SIU: 70
Evansville: 51
From what I have seen, Evansville plays painfully slow. I'd expect SIU to hold them under 60 easily.
It wasn't easy, but we held them under 60.
Brown played 37 minutes and Domask played 36 minutes. No Evansville player played more than 32 minutes. I'm not sure this works to SIU's benefit, especially when they're playing tougher teams than Evansville going forward.

Too much. I think Domask was worn out at the end of the season last year.
I only caught the end of the game. We need Harvey to get back in the game. From what Reis and Watson said, sounds like the whole team was a bit out of kilter today, with the possible exception of Jones in the 2nd half (19 pts in 12 1/2 minutes on 5 of 7 shooting, 8 of 10 FTs - Player of the Game - too many TOs but an outstanding plusminus of 10). Dawgs only 2 for 13 from 3pt land. I expect us to play better tomorrow!
Harvey only played 15 minutes today so he might be the freshest player on the floor tomorrow assuming he's not sick or injured.

Still, we failed to beat the spread. 🙁
If you're gonna reply to me in the forums, please quote what I wrote that you're replying to so I have a clue...thanks! 😀
Lest we forget, this team is overwhelmingly comprised of freshman and sophomores.

This was the kind of game where having a crowd may have really helped. Just a lethargic outing, which happens sometimes, but Southern was lucky Evansville is a bad team because it was a performance that wouldn't cut it against a good opponent. And it would have been nice to be in control and get guys like Butler and Long some PT. I would have been tempted to put Butler in for a few minutes today to see if he could provide some needed energy, as no one other than Jones in the second half had much.
Harvey is in a funk; I'll be interested to see how quickly he can bounce back. And there are a few other guys, especially D'Avanzo and Verplanken, who could use a good game soon to get a little mojo going.

I was thinking the same thing and Reis said the same thing to Mullins postgame. There were points when SIU went on runs and fans could have gotten loud and pushed them to a win earlier in the game but Evansville kept hanging around until the end.
It's games like this that make you appreciate this team because even though they didn't play well they still won and isn't winning what it is all about. Also years past we would have lost this game but guts and defense made it possible for the win thank you coach Mullins for installing a winning culture

I'd much rather be upset about an ugly win than be mad about a loss. Means people's expectations are being raised and that's a good thing for the program.
