Let's get this started. I know it's an exhibition but I'm pumped for basketball to start and excited for this season. No idea if this is going to be on ESPN3 or ESPN+ or if we're going to have to rely on Mike Reis on the radio/streaming online but tickets are cheap if you want to be at the Banterra Center in person for the first time since March 2020.
Don't have much on Henderson State. The Reddies are a D2 team from Arkdelphia, Arkansas and went 11-9 last season. They lost in the Great American Conference semi-finals to University of Arkansas at Monticello.
If there isn't TV, hopefully we can get some observations from people at the game, especially on how the new guys look.
Edit: There's no TV/video stream for this exhibition game. You can listen to Mike Reis here or on 101.5 FM in Carbondale:
It’ll be fun to see who makes a strong first impression, both returnees and newcomers. Not sure we’ll get a final verdict on the early-season starting lineup if Brown is out or limited with his back issue. I’m sure lots of interesting lineup combos will be on display in this one and the upcoming closed scrimmage.
Okay, I' bored too and haven't heard much about rebounding from early reports (or maybe I missed them).
Anyway, Henderson State exhibition is probably not the game to find out, but anxious to see improved rebounding this year with the added post height/athleticism/depth.
Rebounding has been a deficiency the past few years (as we all know) with injuries etc. And I congratulate BM and staff for making it a priority even with last year's challenges. Big improvement here could really push the Salukis down the floor and establish the Dawgs in a competitive position come conference play. Go Salukis!
March on triumphantly!
While I wish this was televised, I'm pumped to listen to how Domask plays post-injury, and maybe just as excited to hear how the freshmen play.
Looking forward to getting this season underway. The Salukis and their new recruits didn't get much love from the supposed experts. They're definitely a dark horse in The Valley, but they have some serious talent and could open some eyes this season. It's time for Mullins & Co to take a big step forward in The Valley, even with the returning talent around the league.
I cannot begin to tell you how excited I am for Tuesday !!! JD Muila will get his first action, as will the 3 freshmen. We'll get to see, what I expect to be, the significantly improved defense (thanks largely in part to Muila and Coupet). I'm already reminding myself NOT to get overly excited knowing that the team will, likely, absolutely dominate. Still though, I cannot wait !!!!!!!!
I am also excited to see the new edition. i want to see what Muila and Coupet bring to this team. Also very interested to see the freshmen. I talked to Coach Mullins at the Saluki Golf event at Kokopelli and he mentioned that Erube had lost 25 lbs since arriving on campus. Said he was now much more fit. Said D'Amico was further along than the others due to competition level at his highschool and the strong level of AAU basketball he had participated in . I asked about Foster Wonders and he stated that Foster had abilities you can't teach including the ability to score anywhere on the court. Said we were going to like him. I hope the freshman get some playing time but mostly it is good to have the Dawgs back on the court and the season in the offing.

Come on, tell us how you really feel!! I love your spirit! 😎

So officially no TV/video stream for this one. I'll be tuning into Mike Reis with the online audio stream:

Also available on the Saluki Radio Network (WCIL-FM 101.5 in Carbondale and KATZ-AM 1600 in St. Louis)
Also should be available to listen to on the Saluki mobile app
Looking like Brown and Coupet will be out tomorrow. Would have liked to see Coupet but more minutes for the Freshmen is exciting. I'm guessing we see Foster Wonders in the starting lineup.

Foster Wonders will not be in the starting lineup Tuesday. You probably need to temper your expectations regarding him a little, at least for now.
A lineup I wouldn't mind seeing at some point in the game is 5. Filewich 4. D'Amico 3. Domask 2. Brown and 1. Banks.

I'm not sure what my expectations are for him right now, just seemed like the likely scenario with Brown and Coupet both out. If not Wonders, then Dalton Banks makes sense but I figured they'd want him to run more of the point.

Most likely starting lineup for tomorrow is Jones, Verplancken, Domask, D'Avanzo and Filewich. The other 6 available scholarship players will also get plenty of PT. Don't read that much into it as the starting lineup will probably change once Brown and Coupet are available.
Either way, Hefferman seemed to think Brown and Coupet would have played if it was a real game:
