Lots of chatter Tim Leonard wanted to hire his buddy Pat Skerry to replace Mullins but Boosters basically told him no. This moron was targeting a 13 year head coach with 1 regular season title and the record for most losses in a season. Those are his accomplishments. You can miss me with this we had to make a change to aim higher crap. This was an inside job by a couple losers who tried to get their boys jobs. We are doomed anyway but here's to hoping Tim Leonard loses his job over this in the near future.
I am less than thrilled with him targeting Skerry but you’re complaining about something that didn’t happen because you’re still mad Mullins got fired

If the only thing that prevented the hire was some booster blowback, then folks have every right to complain, regardless of where people stand on the Mullins firing. Talking out both sides of his mouth on what he wanted in the new coach.
Guy has been to 1 NIT in 13 years and just finished 5th in the CAA.
Not sure there is an ounce of truth to this in regards to Skerry. Lane was pivitol in this mess.
However it happened, it's for the best that he is not a candidate. Along with his so-so record, he's pricey -- earning more than $500K at Towson. Not a very good return on investment.
I agree 100% Pat Skerry has NEVER been considered for the job.Not sure there is an ounce of truth to this in regards to Skerry. Lane was pivitol in this mess.
Here is your story
I would post this but you have much more credibility than I do. I am 100% sure that Tim Leonard DIDN'T want to hire Pat Skerry. He was never considered. He worked with him at Towson University and I would say that they are still friends but Tim doesn't want to work with him again. Also Tim Leonard wanted to give Mullins an extension after last year and was told no by the Administration at SIU. Tim Leonard is the best AD we have had in a long time at SIU. This wasn't his decision alone. Although Tim knows that IF he doesn't get this right he will be the one to be fired next. I was all for Bryan getting an extension, unfortunately it needed to happen after last year and when it didn't it kind of sealed Bryan's fate.
Can we lock this up? The last thing we need is one guy’s opinion ruining the current coaching search because he’s mad his favorite coach got fired
