People like to complain about what team last year didn't accomplish with Domask and Jones but think about what they did accomplish beat OSU on the road almost won the valley ect but I personally will take this year's team over last year's have been more competitive play a better offensive game share the ball better rebounding has improved and still play outstanding defense and is deeper this team beats last years
If you watched the Purdue-Il game, you saw many mentions of Southern Illinois and even a pic of LJ and MD in maroon. Good exposure for sure.
If those two turned out to be overmatched in the Big 10, that would be a bad look, but I knew they would not be overmatched. Lots of MVC players would do just fine in that league!
This is the new Basketball Times we now live in! Lots of mid major players will land at the big schools to get the money and opportunity for the Big Dance!
Okay by me! One and dones!
I am happy for Domask and Jones. But am so ready for this Era of 5th and 6th year players to be over with.
Watching a team like Missouri with 5 guys in their mid 20s in their 5th year of ball who all came from different schools is so boring to me.
That is awful. I am sorry for their loss.
@saluki44 Completely agree! This coaching staff needs to take a step forward. This team is better than last year’s team and there’s still some fundamentals that need to be addressed like boxing out and rebounding, seeing sharp ball movement on the offensive end, while shifting lineups based on the need for additional size, quickness, and/or playing an inside out game when necessary. Kudos to the staff for putting this team together and getting high character guys that represent the program very well.
Mast with 14 first half points on Purdue. Jones 0. As my parlay gently weeps.
Not to kick our fan base while we’re down but Foster Wonders has been heating up lately for the Phoenix, including 5-6 from 3 in a win tonight over Wright State.
Yesterday Lance Jones led Purdue with 24 pts on 5-9 shooting from three. Also had 3 steals. Edey had 16. Blew out Michigan by 32.
(Bradley's Rienk Mast had 34 on 6 - 8 from three as Nebraska whipped Ohio St.)
Wonders seems to be figuring it out at Green Bay after a slow start:
