Southern Illinois Salukis: Bryan Mullins
What's the challenge? No grace period. Mullins is not in a position where he will get time after taking over a rebuild. The Salukis have won at least 17 games the past four seasons and finished in third place last season.

Except that SIU fans realize a big senior class just graduated and this was going to be a transition year no matter who was coach. Mullins will get a grace period in 2019-20, and the Salukis likely will be picked 8th, 9th or 10th. Hopefully they surprise to some extent this year, but 2020-21 is when most reasonable fans will be thinking it's time to realistically start competing in the conference and for a postseason spot.

That is ridiculous. ESPN writer has no clue. If BBQ was still here, he'd be in far worse shape than BMul. And anybody who is a fan knows that.

Agree!  The ESPN writer has no clue about the siutation at SIU.  Mullins has time to rebuild a program that has been mired in mediocrity since Hinson started.  As of now....I think Mullins probably has greater demands and expectations for himself than the fan base does.

Yep, the writer mentions 17 wins the last 4 years and 3rd place this year.  Clearly he didnt know what was really going on.
