KenPom has #198 SIU beating #202 Illinois State 66-62. Illinois State has been great at home this year but don't have a win away from Redbird Arena all season:
Illinois State is currently 24th in the nation in 3 point % and 69th in the nation in block %. They're 291st in free throw %.

If Cook and McGill are back and in game shape, then I'm feeling pretty good about this game. Otherwise, after watching them take down UNI, I think the Dawgs are in for a real battle.
ISU shot the absolute piss out of the ball in the second half against UNI. It was an entertaining second half but the outcome was a shame, because that was a damaging loss for an otherwise really strong Panther resume. Spencer Haldeman, one of UNI's starting guards, went down with an injury in that game as well ... I haven't heard how severe.
The Turds made 6 of 8 threes and shot 63% 2nd half! They won't do that at SIU hopefully.

No major loss here, just the latest from BloNo.
Proud Saluki, living and working in Kansas State territory. 🤔
Mullins just met with the media. Sounds like McGill should play but he said Cook still had pain in his hand so that doesn’t sound good for him playing tomorrow. Who knows though.

I have no idea what Cook's hand feels like and obviously he shouldn't play if he can't help the team or there is serious risk of doing further damage. That said, this is a game Southern has to win if it is going to even flirt with avoiding Thursday this season, and the team could certainly use him, so I hope he plays.
Was a little surprised to see SIU favored by 2 but given Illinois State's troubles away from Redbird Arena and how the Salukis have played at home, it makes sense.
Brendan Mullins being an assistant at ISU the last 2 years should give us an edge on what to expect.
ESPN has us up to a 3 point favorite.
Domask is gonna have to put up big numbers to win today. The Saluki offense is just really bad.
I’m surprised at Benson’s inability to handle the ball.

I like that 2nd player feed off of the benson screen. McGill could not convert but it gave him a clear look.
