@saluki-4-life except that’s a straight up lie. Wonders and the other are are athletic
Based on the little I've seen, Ebube might be the most athletic player we've recruited in awhile
Filewich has 6pts and 7 rebounds - very impressed with this young man. Without Domask, we need our best players to step up. A VAST majority of the fans would say Jones is currently our best player, and I would say he is our most dynamic. When he has 3 (should be 4) turnovers and 0pts it's no surprise that this team is down by double digits at the half. That being said, I expect him to come out (as he often does) in the 2nd half and try to take over. If he is hitting his shots, we still have a chance to win this game. If he remains cold, we have no shot.
I will also say, even with Domask this team would not be winning this game. If you are watching, this isn't just missing one player. This is not having enough athletic players, enough defenders or even size. This coaching staff needs to start recruiting the right players. Please STOP RECRUITING small guards and then go to a 4 guard lineup. 2 years and under .500 record should be enough of a sample size to show that it doesn't work.
@dunkledog no he isn’t. He’s lengthy and a nice player but he is not an explosive athlete. Ebube may be but we need guards who are explosive.
Ben Harvey, Trent Brown, D’Avanzo all definitely need replaced.
@saluki-4-life okay we’ll just take up opinion over everyone else’s who says he is
Illinois State wants this one more. Quicker to every loose ball. If this team can't come out and get a win tomorrow, it's time to get very concerned about the future.

The rout is on
Yep it is. You must not watch it
By a 2 and 11 team? Ugh.
Ben Harvey, Trent Brown, D’Avanzo all definitely need replaced.
I’m OK with Brown being a role player with good intangibles. The fact that he plays 30+ min a game is problematic.
Hard to make a case for the other two being back. Harvey has a LOT of work to do on his game.
This is so pathetic. Those of you that think things are going to be okay, please explain how. These players aren’t good enough.
Because every player except Domask & Jones has been recruited over already. It's going to be a year or two before we're decent, though. Right now we are the worst team in The Valley.
We knew it would take a few years to get the program back competing for Valley titles. I think the future is bright, but the current team needs a lot of help and the first half this afternoon was inexcusable.
I’m hopeful the coaches see the obvious: this team isn’t athletic enough to compete in the upper echelon of the MVC. Harvey, Brown, Verplancken, etc., do not make shooters uncomfortable, let alone get in their heads or physically wear them down like our 2000s guards. Thus, opponents tend to shoot well against Southern.
Needs to be addressed with a transfer or two, pronto, in addition to the incoming freshmen, who are not super athletic.
Can't consistently compete at any tier in the current MVC with a squad this athlete-starved, especially if SIU can't hit their open shots when they have them.
It's frustrating to watch at this point how matched against every single MVC team, the Salukis look like a low-major auto-bid trying to bust a bracket by knocking off a #1-3 seed. This isn't an issue of missing one bonafide athlete.
The entire roster needs a steroidal athletic infusion, please.
