Double double for Filewich. 10 points, 10 rebounds.
Well I’m out. Everyone involved should be utterly embarrassed. Things better change.
They actually have athletic players on the team in Butler and Long but they do not get any playing time. They would rather hang out at the three point line all day. Butler is a facilitator and can transition the ball well moving up the court. They are not using the strengths of each player. They live and die by the three point line. Â
The fact that SIU got completely waxed in the first half and things are getting even worse in the second half isn't a very good sign to me either. This team better come out with an edge tomorrow or this team might not win another game rest of season.
I used to be really excited about this team. Turns out that our success crashed faster than a Game Stop stock surge.
This is so pathetic. Those of you that think things are going to be okay, please explain how. These players aren’t good enough.
Because every player except Domask & Jones has been recruited over already. It's going to be a year or two before we're decent, though. Right now we are the worst team in The Valley.
And it really isn't close. Considering how SIU finished up in conference play last year, this is very concerning.
--Insert something witty here--
@dunkledog no he isn’t. He’s lengthy and a nice player but he is not an explosive athlete. Ebube may be but we need guards who are explosive.
From the film I've seen Wonders is not very athletic. He has decent size at 6'5" and looks like he's not too skinny. He can shoot, but looks slow on defense. D'amico looks much more athletic on film and appears much more ready to contribute, imo. I feel wonders game looks similar to Harvey's. D'amico has some things we don't currently have in sg/sf, length and some hops.
Illinois St is completely embarrassing this team. Props to them.

This is getting even worse somehow
Players and staff should be embarrassed. Getting out-hustled the entire game is ridiculous. No leadership
Thank God no fans allowed this year. Eat the financial loss, save them their weekend.
Ridiculous.
Proud Saluki, living and working in Kansas State territory. 🤔
SIU is down 37 at home to 2-11 Illinois State.
We knew it would take a few years to get the program back competing for Valley titles. I think the future is bright, but the current team needs a lot of help and the first half this afternoon was inexcusable.
See, I actually didn’t think this. I believed in the core recruits and Bryan to compete for 3rd this year.Â
What we didn’t get were support players who could fill meaningful minutes, if needed. A major injury compounded this. Just a distaster.
