We're getting killed on the boards by a D3 team! Disturbing.

Jones is so quick, on both sides of the ball.  I think he is going to be a stud - absolutely LOVED that he passed it off to Brown there and then hugged him.

Their 3pt shooting is not good though.  Perhaps the deeper 3pt line is affecting Brown and Francois more than I thought it would ?

Got shooting up to 49.2% despite 7-25 from 3.  19/9 A/TO is a positive, despite the rebounding disparity (gave up too many 2nd and 3rd chances).

Liked the way we looked last 5 minutes or so - hustle, good D, some offensive flow! Brown had a couple of buckets. Jones looks very comfortable out there - lots of talent. Our freshmen will be all right!

Wanted to see improvement from Benson and got it. Much better, 15 pts, 5 boards and a couple 3's.

He can shoot from the outside - that will be needed because I'm not that impressed with his inside game.

I think Benson will be a decent player. He can shoot and is mobile. He is not a jumper but hopefully he will be coached up as far as rebounding goes. They have to improve rebounding as a team

Loved the "attitude" on the bench.  Keep looking at coach and thinking....no jokes, no drama, just a serious I'm here to win and do the best job I can. It will be fun to drive to C'dale this year.

One more comment.  Was sitting behind the bench and this is a young bunch of  men....coaches and team.  Love it! Will be a good, if not great, reentry of SIU to serious MVC basketball.  Got to make the Arena a feared place to play again.

Really hoping that Dembele A) gets healthy soon and B) is effective once he is, because this team is really going to need his rebounding and defense on the interior. Way too many offensive rebounds surrendered to a DIII opponent.

Agree with the overall above assessments. Rebounding is a clear deficiency and needs work.

That said, this team is obviously a work in progress. And so far, like what I'm seeing: attitude, generosity with the ball, defensive intensity, up-tempo play and camaraderie. Like someone said, the freshman will be OK.

Dawgs will have there ups and downs, but the future looks bright indeed.

March on triumphantly!
