That’s not very nice.  I like the smell of donkeys and buttholes. That’s why I live in the Big D.

Eau de Staley's Soybean Plant. Really miss the smells of my youth! LOL

Del Monte used to grow sweet corn around Dekalb and leave a mountain of corn shucks around until they got really funky, but you haven't lived until you've lived near a commercial turkey farm. Takes your breath away.

@mr_woogers Absolutely. If a SIU player isn't in the paint when a shot goes up, they are immediately turning and running to the defensive end.  The coaches have to be seeing this also

I think the coaches are TEACHING this. Mullins always talks about limiting easy transition baskets (listen to pretty much any pre-game interview and you’ll hear him mention it). In order to do that you can’t have 3+ guys crashing the boards, so you end up sacrificing those offensive rebounds/second chance points. I guess they  feel like we’d give up more points in transition buckets than we would gain in second chance points.

I believe it was the legendary Red Auerbach who said the best defense against the fastbreak is scoring and offensive rebounding. We're 7th in the MVC in offensive rebounding and 9th in defensive rebounding.

Scoring…what a novel idea! We should call up Mullins and let him know!

Listen, offensive rebounds would be great, but I think Mullins feels like even if we sent more bodies to crash the glass, our roster isn’t  going to get enough extra boards to make up for the inevitable fast break buckets that will result when we lose the rebound. I tend to agree.

We are #1 in scoring defense in the MVC and #23 in the nation.

You need a balance, but against ISU in the 1st half, seemed like after the shot about the only guy working for a O Rb was Mulia or Filewich. Everyone else immediately flew the coop after a shot.

Just checked. We actually had 10 ORBs to ISU's 6, so I'm all wet. We have been offensively outrebounded in every conference game except this one. Only had 2 ORbs against Eville and 3 against Valpo.

I'm still waiting for Muila to do something. When he's on the floor our offense is 4 vs 5. Teams are just leaving him alone and doubling on Domask/Jones.
