Somebody, somewhere, shows up to answer the bell for this team. Every game. Different names; same attitude.
I can’t get over how Mullins has chiseled this team in his image.
Side note: I was at the game in Chicago. When I saw Porter put his starters back in with 50 seconds left, I turned to my wife said ‘We’re not losing in Carbondale.’
We got embarrassed that night. Not tonight.
This team will work. And it’s willing to work with the best.

That was indeed a wtf moment, and this payback has been sweet. BMull definitely outcoached him in the 2nd half and I look forward to a rematch in StL.
If you're gonna reply to me in the forums, please quote what I wrote that you're replying to so I have a clue...thanks! 😀
Ramblers had a 82.6% win probability at 33-23 with 4:31 in the 1st half. It all went downhill from there.

i have no clue what he was trying to do in the 2nd half.
great win guys. love McGill talking about trying to win the league.
we've played the toughest league schedule to date, so we are battle tested and the remaining schedule should be very much to our advantage.
Craving a McBride Special!
I am so pumped for this program. I know Barry had some decent teams, but I never felt we were true contenders, and never had much hope in the future. That has changed in less than a year. Mullins and this coaching staff is for real. I know we probably have a ways to go before we compete for championships, but I can't help the feeling in my gut that Saluki basketball is BACK!
What's also back: me spending more time at work surfing message boards than doing actual work 😣

So true! 😆 😆

Holy crap, the first play on that is amazing--McGill with a jaw-dropping move topped off with a dunk!

I suspect that this team will be competing for a championship as soon as next season. I know some will argue we will this year, but they'll need to beat some good teams on the road if they really have a chance this year (which I think Northern Iowa will).
I really, really enjoyed the game last night.
It has been years and years since I enjoyed watching an SIU game that much.
I am really sure that the SIU team I loved to watch so many years ago, had a point guard by the name of Bryan Mullins.
Interesting!!!!!
At home they are fun to watch again, but the opposing teams are going to hate to come to the Banterra Center. LOL
Wow...Hinson was all smoke and mirrors. Mullins is all fire and in-your-face! What a great turn around for this team, for SIU and putting a little more fun back into our lives!! Seems to be NO quit in this team now. I think they are starting to REALLY believe in themselves.
Attendance was 4,912. Actually kind of surprised by that, looked great on TV. Pretty sure everyone that bought a ticket showed up.
Yeah I heard Connor onion guess 6,000. That was a loud 4,912! Visitors will be REALLY frightened when we start drawing 6,000+
i think this can be explained by having a whole lot more no-shows previously. when we thought we were looking at 4,000 it was really 2,700 with 1,300 no-shows. we sold just 600 more tickets but I'm guessing there were very few ticket holders who missed this game. i know traffic was heavier. we had a skewed perception of how many people were in the building previously. the good news is that it is trending up! it will be nice to have a saturday home game to get that number even higher.

Great night at BanteRena!
Absolutely love what the Saluki Swim team does in the Dawg Pound. Great job guys! Keep it up.
March on triumphantly!

Photo and audio give a much better view of how packed the arena was. Even better, the student section was practically filled all the way to the top of the bleachers. Saw a steady stream of students marching their way from the dorms in the cold and snow last night, a good sign!
It was especially impressive to notch the W with Domask having an off night. Speaking of which, I'm wondering with his heavy minutes this year if he's hitting a bit of a freshman wall, as evidenced by his uncharacteristic FT misses the past couple games. Might not be be a bad idea to give him a lighter practice or two to get his legs back.
