“If you have signed your NLI with the school, you’re locked in to playing there for at least one year”
“National Letter of Intent release rules. If your student-athlete changes their mind about the school they signed an NLI with, they must ask to be released from the program. If they are not granted a release form, the player will lose oneyear of eligibility.”
Barekeep, I value your info and sources, but WHAT IF......
The intended target says no. Maybe he would view such a transition as too messy. Kids might leave Loyola to follow him, and I don't believe he would want that. HUCKY is likely to do some of the same scorched earth leaving here as he did MO State, so the TARGET starts his new gig with some negative publicity generated by HUCKY and his media friends. You know HUCKY is going to hang his hat on this latest run and if they get 4th, he will be pushing that with his media pals.
So, if the intended target says no, is there a backup plan that does NOT include HUCKY here next season?
Simply put, I want him gone no matter what.
If a target says no, in any sport, then you simply move to the next target or conduct a new search. That's the backup plan. Let's not overthink this.
Hucky will not be here next year period.
I know this is hard to believe but He is not going to cause any problems. He has other plans.
I do not see Bryan saying no in any world. I don’t know if any of the kids will try to follow him.
Bryan Mullins will be the head coach next year .
I hope the part about not causing problems is right. This place gave him an opportunity when no one else would. What he made of it, good and bad is his own accord. I jut hope he remembers that.
I you had premium you would know the whole story lol
seriously he is going to actually show class class this time. He has too much to lose not to. It will not be genuine but he will try

- That's going to be quite the performance. And no doubt the majority of people will fall for it, which is maddening. But whatever: small price to pay to see him hit the door.
(Inflammatory political snark)
Sadly Austin you are 100% correct they will fall for it
When has the guy been genuine? Maybe during the infamous Murray St rant?

"resignation" or fired? what will the wording be?
Been wondering that myself
Honestly man, why would Loyola just plain release them? Moser might not be the world's greatest coach, but he's not stupid and he's not gonna roll over and give up the best recruiting class Loyola has had in decades, as a housewarming present to Bryan so Bryan can turn around a conference rival. When Capel went to Pitt last year, he didn't take anyone on Duke's class with him.
Furthermore, while Bryan is still a little green, Mike Mullins has been around for a while. He knows this could be career suicide for both of them to try to recruit already signed players from Loyola. No high major coach would trust recruiting a kid off the IL Wolves for fear he jumps to SIU, and the IL Wolves wouldn't be able to recruit anyone who has even the slightest P5 aspirations.
Seriously, if the roles were reversed (say we had a quality coach and not Hinson) and one of our assistant coaches was going home to Loyola and taking our entire recruiting class with him, we'd all be up in arms. Any head coach worth his salt would fight this tooth and nail, and probably have the help of Elgin & the Valley because they don't want to set such a precedent.
We're at basically the basement floor thanks to Hinson. The only thing we can do about that is fire him in a week. Bryan will build this, but he'll do it the right way, not the Bruce Pearl scorched earth way. Not to sound like a dick here, but we have to stop being delusional about Bryan's early tenure. Evansville is a mess this year, but McCarty looks like he'll get it turned around in a couple of years. That will be Bryan.

I seem to recall that a few years back SIU allowed the release of some players with the caveat that they could not play for any team in the Missouri Valley Conference.
Nobody ever said Mullins would recruit them. All that was said is that they may want to follow .

you assume people here read. 😁
After thinking about it Anthony Beane was allowed out of a NLI to follow his dad here. I am sure there are many many other examples

I was thinking the same thing as well, and if Hinson would have been let go last year, what would Darius have done, if his dad was not retained as an assistant coach?
The real question is will Bryan Mullins bring MSN back to the message board? 🤔
