Jesus Christ how many times do we have to say it.

Barry Hinson will not be back next year period. He could win 3 in St.Louis and go to the sweet 16 and is still not coming back

Did he molest someone? Because otherwise, (all top secret knowledge aside) I believe he will  be back if we make it to the Sweet 16!

Can you imagine how bad it would look to fire a coach that took you there? In fact, I believe it will be tough to fire him if we make it to the NCAA. I think it's a definite possibility. This league is very balanced this year.

As Brownie McGhee once sang, "Believe half you see son - don't believe a damn thing that you hear!"

Unfortunately I have to agree. I don't see them having the balls to fire him if he wins the valley tournament.

Don’t believe Hinson can save his job too many other factors involved here.  This has more to do with the body of work Hinson has done the last 7 years than just wins and loses.   Can’t say never but really feel Hinson is gone  no matter what happens in St Louis

I want to believe that but I can't totally forget what happened last year when he was definitely gone also.

I'm having doubts, but BK says it's done. I'm trusting his info. 😎

I am assuming you're joking about this. But in case you're not:  Fortunately you're not going to have to worry about him winning the tourney: he won't. And even if he manages to buck 17 years of history and win the tourney, do you really think this team, whose best win is against a NET 120-something, would be capable if beating a 2 or 3 seed in the NCAA tourney? And then beat an 8 or 9 seed to get to the Sweet 16?

Hinson's record against Top 50 teams is something like 1-20 since becoming HC here, and judging from his lack of NCAA invites while at MoSt, I doubt it was much better there.

There is nothing to worry about on that front.

Good grief.

I'm assuming even the soft SoIll media will feel compelled to ask him in a pre-Arch Madness press conference if he thinks this weekend could be the end of the line for him at Southern. If so, I'll be curious to hear his tone ... whether he's defensive/defiant, or if there is more of the read-between-the-lines recognition that seven years without NCAA/NIT at Southern is not acceptable, as he acknowledged a few weeks back.

Barry Hinson is in his last weekend of coaching.

Seriously does anybody listen. If he is not fired he will step down. This is not hard to understand

Relax, people still remember that shitstorm you stirred up last march based on sources who were "out of the loop" or just pulling your leg.  I will be very happy if he's gone soon.  If common sense and logic had anything to do with it, his first contract would have wound down without an extension.

Just trying to wake up the dead! 😀

But we do have a chance to get to the Sweet 16, slim as it is. After all, a guy and his dog just survived 5 days buried in the snow by eating Taco Fire sauce. That's amazing because my dog likes Mexican food, but he is Not fond of hot sauce!  It's also possible a meterorite crashes through my roof tonight and wipes out the pan of brownies sitting on the kitchen countertop!   But not very likely, hopefully!! 😀

I have no clue what you are talking about. Hinson was fired in March and got a lifeline

There is no harm in talking about other candidates I guess. SIU could always screw this up
