Would be shocked 😮 if Hinson was replaced in mid season . If so Novsek was just fired along with Evansville’s whole staff , not sure he would qualify as a good intern coach . Beane is the main asst coach helping Hinson run the team NOW not sure things would change much with him in charge. Unfortunately this just looks like another lost season.
I'd be happy to see what Beane can do......or any of the other assistants for the remainder of the year. We all know how this thing ends with Hinson running the show. The little huckster is very consistent.
Just a thought here: out of the blue Doug Novsek was sitting on the bench at the beginning of the season, had a new position created for him, has multiple years experience as an assistant coach, is an ex-Saluki player.
I didn't realize the depth of his coaching experience. Pretty impressive. That being said, I would respectfully pass.

Yep! Have a feeling these guys would rather play for Coach Beane than Coach Huckleberry Hound. Seems like half the time they're sleepwalking for Huck. Give Beane a shot. (He's also willing to recruit and doesn't have a crappy barbeque sauce ... that I know of. 😀 )
Novsek was Assoc. HC at Nevada for years - got fired when Mussleman came in, got fired when his buddy Marty Simmons got fired at Evansville. (He and Marty played together on those state championship Lawrenceville High School teams - great shooter for SIU.)
We aren't going to be making an in season change... After this season though, I really don't care who, just not Hinson. Although, I thinking the new coach would be wise to try and keep the Beanes around obviously.

More relevant question... When they don't, how long will it take to make a decision and what are the chances Hinson is retained?
I am going to say we will have a decision within 7 days or losing on Thursday-Saturday and I give Hinson a 5% chance to magically retain his job. I want to say 0, but we all know, there is always a chance.

The reason 1 year is unrealistic to me is because if you think he is worthy of renewing then you would also think he is worthy of heading up the rebuilding project. If he is worthy of a rebuild project, he is worthy of a longer contract.
Also remember that he has 1 year remaining and the buyout is $175k.
