White smoke. That's hilarious!

Of course, if that's what happened... "that's hilarious!"

I LOVED everything about Mullins on and off the court. I'm also VERY glad "the ship didn't sail" as some of us were concerned about. At the same time, I'm not sure why some of the other candidates are being so frowned upon. Mullins would bring back Floor U - and I want that dearly but I also want someone who can not only keep the RELATIVELY impressive recruits that are coming, along with the existing players, to stay but also be able to recruit future players. In all honesty, I'm not sure which candidate that is. If the "insiders" are confident Mullins can do that, than I'm as excited about Saluki Basketball as I have been in MANY years. I did see where Troy Hudson, former Saluki and NBA player, was saying it was a great place to play and he felt he could talk recruits into going there.....although I'm not sure in what capacity he would do that from. Either way, I'm anxious and cannot wait to hear the good news. We have all been hoping and praying for some excitement in this program and the time is now as the Salukis could finish at or near the top of the conference as soon as next season with the right moves. GO SIU !!!!
Alums/natives of cities turned NBA players have been a trend in college basketball. See Patrick Ewing at Georgetown, Penny Hardaway at Memphis, Walter McCarty at Evansville and Chris Mullin at St. John's. I'm sure there's more as well. Hudson or Chris Carr would be SIU's attempt at this kind of hire. Frazier is too old to take on this kind of challenge. Unfortunately, you're banking on name recognition with these kinds of hires hoping top recruits commit to your school based off the chance to play for a legend. While Hudson had the best pro career in recent memory, he doesn't have the curb appeal that these other big name hires have when they go out recruiting. Also, his years at SIU after transferring in from Mizzou were in the last of the Rich Herrin days and while he had good individual numbers, the team wasn't that good so he's not as beloved. He did grow up in Carbondale, though, so that probably means something locally.

Glad you liked that!
It's the closest thing i could think of to getting a new coach.
Do we think mullins will clean house or try to retain all out players
BM probably said screw it.

Nope

He won’t want to recruit too many at this late date. I believe he will try to keep all in the program now and signed recruits. That still gives him 3 of his own to work on. Who knows how many transfer. My count could be off by 1, I’m not sure about signed recruits.

A lot of this comes down to whether Mullins keeps Beane Sr. on staff.
I told you all this Saturday but Jeff Goodman writes so now it is news 😡
Dave Reynolds got it from a real source...

I heard from good sources (my dog), there will be an announcement at 11:59PM tomorrow night - AND there will be maroon smoke pouring out of that biga** smokestack near the arena and the bells in the clock tower will be ringing out "Party Like It's 1999!"
Troy was a gifted offensive player. Other aspects of his game were not apparent when he played here. Great person but I think Mullins is a better sdlection.

I believe TH runs some kind of summer basketball program for C'dale kids. Carr had some kind of private basketball academy in Minnie!

Interesting number, Loyola has three recruits coming from the Wolves. Wonder if Loyola would let them go?
WOOF!

Hey, i went with your word, just as if they had sent white smoke out of the arena window.
Just anxious for the press conference...
We really need Sal right now. Kill dressed as a cardinal lighting a fire on top of the arena would be classic 🤣
