"That still gives him 3 of his own to work on"
Interesting number, Loyola has three recruits coming from the Wolves. Wonder if Loyola would let them go?
No way in Hell. But he could bring the uncommitted ones he's been working on.
Well, I guess Mullins is the safe choice .
I don't recognize any faces in the photo.
Do you?
(1) US COVID-19 statistics (February 29, 2020-June 16, 2020): 2,124,000 reported cases and 115,052 deaths
(2) Donald Trump (June 15, 2020) told a group of senior citizens that there would be very few cases of COVID-19 if the US stopped its testing and contact tracing: "If we stop testing right now, we'd have very few cases, actually."
(3) Donald Trump [(Jan 20, 2020), when asked if he's worried about a pandemic]: “No. Not at all. And we have it totally under control. It’s one person coming in from China, and we have it under control. It’s — going to be just fine.”

This.
But also...this is Kill's most important decision.
He knows he has to get it right.

Did a little bit of reading tonight and saw this:

In the ideal world for the family, either Brendan or Bryan would be hired as a head coach and the other would come onboard as a top assistant. They understand being patient for that opportunity.
"The only thing I said is if you get a head-coaching job you better-hire-me-type thing," Bryan said. "Obviously it would be awesome to work with him someday. I think both of us have a long way to go to working our way up still.
"Hopefully, hopefully someday it'll happen."
Sigh. Is this thing on. Tap tap tap
hello ?
I already have said said multiple times Bryan was bringing his brother with him

Oh yeah no doubt, it's an obvious move. The entire article is pretty good though from a few years ago.
Bryan Is bringing his brother:
I told you all this Saturday but Jeff Goodman writes so now it is news 😡
Hey, i went with your word, just as if they had sent white smoke out of the arena window.
Just anxious for the press conference...We really need Sal right now. Kill dressed as a cardinal lighting a fire on top of the arena would be classic 🤣
That would be effing epic!!
If anyone could photoshop that to perfection, it would be Sal ….
btw, your mike is on Barkeep, I heard you loud & clear.
Any other names for assistant coaches floating out there? I noticed Tony Young is an assistant coach for the 16U Illinois Wolves now along with being head coach at Marmion. He would have good ties to both Chicago and St. Louis.

No sources here but I would guess there would be interest in Kyle Smithpeters, Kent Williams, Tony Young, etc. I assume Beane Sr. is a possibility too given the fact that he has Darius and Jimmy in his pocket and that could be a nice jumpstart for Mullins.
IMO, Mullins needs a more expierenced guy on his staff too, I’m just not sure about any good names. I mentioned Marty Simmons before but Clemson seems to be retaining their coach and Simmons won’t leave Clemson for SIU.
I would like to see someone with a good offensive mind to complement the defensive mindset Mullins brings. Preferably someone with more than two plays!
He absolutely needs to bring in an assistant that has more experience and probably someone that can effectively work with post players to advance their skill set.

Do you or anyone have names of coaches with connections to the Midwest/Valley/Southern Illinois that would be good fits?
I can put together a great staff of former Salukis that have interesting recruiting ties but things could go incredibly poorly if those good recruits being brought in aren’t being coached up and developed. I’m generally very confident in what Mullins has done in terms of developing talent at Loyola but obviously the assistant coaches you hire are incredibly important in terms of developing and coaching.
