@cosmos would they only add a basketball school? Or would we keep it 11, and the 20 game conference season and just do home/away with every team now?
Western Kentucky is usually one of the better teams in this conference in both basketball and football. They consistently go to a very low level bowl. However, they were an FCS powerhouse prior to moving up to FBS. The Bears are basically dropping down in basketball and moving up in football. Also, dropping down in other non revenue sports, IMO. They'll have more scholarships in football and theoretically share more revenue, but how much football revenue does Conference USA really generate? The ceiling is very low for Conference USA football teams. If they jump again in the next 5 years it could work out. But yes, long term I don't see a CUSA stronghold.
With the new media rights deal they signed Conference USA payouts were $750k annually...I'm not sure what the total payout/compensation looks like, but they claim in the end it will be revenue neutral.

Looks like Conference USA schools take in about 2-3X more revenue in football as compared to MVFC schools. However, I'm sure that is offset some by the cost of the additional scholarships, travel expense, etc.
They did say they have an individual giving $5 million to help out also...
Back to having no teams from Missouri in MVC, but please, hard pass on Wichita.
Hopefully, easy to replace, never cared too much for SWMS/MS. Missouri's version of Illinois State, too big for their britches.
Their football and basketball teams have underachieved in the Valley, and they will continue to underachieve in Conference USA.
I don't even know who is in CUSA anymore...
Edit, I just looked it up. LOL that conference sucks.

Yep, I'm sure Missouri State fans are looking forward to some intense rivalries with Kennesaw State and Delaware.
Bring in Drake for Football and UW Milwaukee for BB, but that's just me being selfish living in SE WI wanting two valley teams in the area.
Also, hoping they keep the tournament in STL, but I would not be sad if it moves to Allstate Arena in Rosemont.
Saluki Insider? I barely know her!
I pray as long as the Valley exists SIU is a part of it. I want no part of FBS, what is the point. Missouri State fans are going to hate it there.
Drake is non scholarship in football. Not sure they would want to change that in order to move up to the MVFC.Bring in Drake for Football and UW Milwaukee for BB, but that's just me being selfish living in SE WI wanting two valley teams in the area.

Ugh Delaware. We should've won that game...
Its hard to believe Joe Flacco is still an active NFL QB

Yep, that one hurt. ... By the way, Delaware never would have had Flacco if the Pitt coach hadn't told him he'd probably never start there because there were better QBs on the roster. And maybe Flacco's fine NFL career doesn't happen, either. I'll never pass up an opportunity to lambaste Dave Wannstedt.
