Missouri State has really disappointed this season. Β After all the hype about their recruiting class and returning players. Β Too bad for The Valley.
Yes it is, about Mo State.Β
Just about the time you think things might be on the upswing no one can sustain success.Β Evansville's program looks to be worse off than before, McCarty looks to be gone and it would not surprise me to see other things uncovered as part of that investigation.
ISU RED has a mediocre coach and he will never get that program to the Dance.Β Never.Β Porter has gone back to being Porter at Loyola, it seems.
Watched a bit of Bradley and NIU yesterday, both played hard, Jacobsen just might have the Panthers turning around.Β
Ironically Dana Ford did better with an undermanned team last year than with the improved talent on the roster this season.
I believe McCarty had Evansville on the upswing. Β That was a nice surprise, but they lack consistency. Β With his imminent departure, who knows how that program will respond and if they'll find the right person to continue an upward trajectory.
Loyola has a few kids that have been injured, which hopefully explains their up and down nature.
Bottom line, teams like UNI that had a stellar non-con record can ill afford losses in The Valley if they want to maintain a shot at an at large bid. Β The rest of the conference really needs to step up and take care of business with their non-conference schedules and that really didn't happen. Β
Here's to hoping that SIU takes a major step forward along with a few other teams in the next year, so The Valley returns to more than a one bid league.

Brutal news for Bradley. Without Childs, who is probably a first-team all-MVC talent, they're not a legit contender.
I won't be surprised if Loyola wins their 3rd MVC Championship in a row. They have talent and Krutwig is just so good around the basket. Can't explain some of their puzzling losses. Unlike a lot of folks on here, I think Moser's a decent coach - not great but decent.
UNI has looked really good at times too. Mo. State looks big and athletic, but really seem to be inconsistent. They led Loyola for a lot of that game. Loyola only shoy 20% from three, but Krutwig killed them. 23 pts, 7 rbs, 2 blocks. Dana Ford seems like somewhat of a hothead on the bench. Some players don't dig that.
Loyola might win the regular season championship, Arch Madness is gonna be a dogfight. Β

Post season tournament can be exciting. It's ridiculous that it overrides a complete season's work.
Down goes the Redbirds!

Good one from Des Moines on CBS Sports Network
Drake's big guy is stuffing Krutwig - he's a force inside.
My goodness, Robbins from Drake is a beast inside.Β It'll be interesting to see how we handle him.

Only a soph. Heβs got upside.
Drake was on the verge of pulling away but Keith Clemons for Loyola just went on a 5-0 run.
Loyola had a shot to tie but an ugly last possession.Β Drake wins.
