Not surprised about this. What would surprise me is if Evansville avoids Thursday anytime in the foreseeable future.

Wonder if Sam Cunliffe follows him

If he has them competing shortly, he'll have done one helluva job. I don't share your optimism for the Aces' future under Lickliter.

Lick was brutal at Iowa.  Horrible recruiting and a style of play that would make a sloth seem sluggish.

He set Iowa b'ball back about 10 years.

For the sake of the Valley I hope he does a good job at Evansville.

Well that sucks!  Bad for Evansville and bad for the rest of the MVC.

Yeah 3 years is a long enough time to rebuild a train wreck in the big ten. GTFO

Don't forget Lick made two Sweet 16s at Butler. The first was with Matta's guys, but in 2007 he was National Coach of the Year, even though they lost to a wonderful bunch of Sweet 16 Salukis in Hinkle Fieldhouse!

And so far his record at Evansville is clean! Really clean!  Like 0 - 9 clean. Not blemished by a single digit in the win column!

UNI sophomore AJ Green has declared for the NBA draft. The MVC Player of the Year plans to proceed through the process without an agent.

Green has scored 1,119 points through through his first two seasons of college basketball.”

Would really change the league if he were drafted.

If he goes, that would be a heck of a cap on what's already been a significant amount of talent that's left the MVC this spring.

Is Greene NBA good? Maybe I'll be proven wrong, but IMO, he's not.

I would think he isn't too serious about it.  No disrespect to Trent Brown, but if he can shut down AJ, I'm pretty sure most if not everyone else in the NBA can as well.

Also, if he hasn't hired an agent yet, it's probably not too serious.  Mostly testing the waters.

I actually think the MVC has kept a good amount of talent.  I don't expect Green to leave but it's really just been Drake, Evansville, and us (Cook) that's lost talent.  Everyone else was able to keep what they had and built on it.

I agree.  We lost Cook, but we didn't really have him last year.  Drake lost a really good player and Evansville as well.  Overall, I think that the Valley will actually be better next year than it was this year (assuming Green does stay at UNI).
