Welp, now that's a killer for the Valley
If he goes, that would be a heck of a cap on what's already been a significant amount of talent that's left the MVC this spring.
I agree. The talent that's left the MVC (Liam Robbins.....the kid from Evansville) has hurt the league. Hopefully these teams have found guys that can at least fill the talent void. The transfer rule that's being proposed, with regard to being able to transfer without sitting out a year, will be detrimental to the mid-majors. I'm not really interested in seeing mid-majors becoming a feeder league for the BIG MONEY conference. Not to mention the fact that it will ruin the potential for Cinderella scenarios in the NCAA Tournament. I would be okay with the mid-majors creating their own season end tournament and tell the BIG MONEY schools to go play with themselves.
Is Greene NBA good? Maybe I'll be proven wrong, but IMO, he's not.
Sorry but Greene isn't close to being ready for the NBA. I'm not an NBA scout, but from what I've seen, Greene would be LUCKY to be a 2nd round pick, and that would have to be a team that would be willing to invest in a project. Greene would ultimately end up in the D League.

Bad for the MVC and Valpo.

I miss Creighton and WSU. I miss the prestige.
Teams in the current MVC are having loads of trouble holding onto top talent. I know I'm biased, but this league needs SIU to be good now more than ever. Whether the other programs like it or not, SIU is probably the most marketable of the bunch.

Watch that little creep chip-off-the-old-block at Minnesota get him! To me, Liberty was way more talented than Greene. (No way Greene gets drafted 2nd round IMO.)

If we could get back to Tatum, Young, Falker days, we might even get press in Chicago!
Maybe Liberty comes here!

The conference transfer rule used to say, you had to sit out 2 years transferring from 1 conference school to another. Paraphrasing.
Freeman-Liberty is going high-major. Think he was close to going to Northwestern last offseason.
I struggle to consider Northwestern high major

Between Liberty, Robbins, Williams and maybe even Cook, you had 3-4 potential first-team all-Valley guys opt to leave.
The increasingly tilted playing field in favor of big-money conferences has taken a sorry toll on college basketball.
AJ Green has second round potential as a senior, especially if he keeps improving; don't forget this kid won POY as a sophomore, and already has an NBA-level shooting ability from just about anywhere on the floor. He's not an above the rim player, but I think as a senior he could sneak his way into the late second round.
While I assume its possible that some college players declare for the draft without any outside advice - thinking they're good enough - I doubt that was the case with AJ and with most players who declare. I would think he's aware of scout interest in him over the past two years (probably mostly this last year) that pushed him to testing the waters.
