Bradley beats Penn State.
Bradley beat SMU and Penn State to win the Cancun event. Braves have a salty frontcourt with Childs and Bar (both much-improved), and a 7-1 kid to return from injury next month.
Too bad they stubbed their toe last week with a 1-point loss at UIC.
UNI loses to Old Dominion.
Terrible start for the Valley.
Evansville dumps Wyoming.
Bad loss for Bradley against IUPUI.
Several other Challenge games later tonight.
ISUred beats BYU at home. Good win.
Up 5 -3 in the MW-MVC Challenge.
Saturday S. Diego St (picked 2nd) at Redturds, N. Mex. (picked 3rd) at Bradley.
S Dakota State absolutely hammered UNI yesterday. Maybe we should add them to the Valley. They seem to be a rising athletic department.
Craving a McBride Special!
South Dakota State, Belmont, and Murray State should all be considered.
It will be interesting to see how good the Bunnies are after Mike Daum graduates.

Good point. They have a big test at Memphis tonight.
From what I have seen so far, I don't think there are any really good (i.e. NCAA/NIT at-large) teams in the Valley but there are also aren't any really lousy (300+ RPI) teams in the Valley, either. There really isn't a whole lot of difference between the top teams and the bad team in the league this year. I wouldn't be surprised if the regular season champ has at least 4 or 5 or 6 losses this year.
One thing folks haven't mentioned that helped Southern last year was this. 9 of the 18 conference games last year were decided by 2 possessions (6 points) or less. And in those game, Southern was 7-2 last year. Now, you can chalk that up to some bit of luck or clutch players or good coaching. But who's to say that Southern can be expected to repeat that. Make that a 4-5 record or 5-4 and Southern goes from 11-7 last year in the conference to 9-9 or 8-10.
my how this conference has fallen
