Saturday MVC Games:
Northern Iowa @ Drake, 5pm on ESPN+
Indiana State @ Bradley, 7pm on ESPN +
Drake -6
Bradley -3
Take Bradley if it's still -3.
Craving a McBride Special!
So if I read the Hackman probability chart correctly - the most likely tournament game will be a 4/5 match between SIU and MSU. What a fitting send off for PT.

Could not ask for a better situation for Cheeto BBQ. I would laugh 3 months straight, if he lost to MSU in the tourney and was fired after that. That would be a thing of beauty.
Joe Lunardi has the Valley at a 15 seed.
From 1979 until now The Valley has never been seeded this low and not a single coach or athletic director seems the least bit concerned.

ETA: No. Iowa @ Drake is scheduled on Directv 665 and 671 at 5pm.

Tonight is the 50 year reunion of Drake's final four team that lost to UCLA by 3 in the semis.

I did a little research on that '69 tournament:
Drake tied for the Missouri Valley Conference title with #11 Louisville and beat them
in a playoff.
Louisville, St. Louis, Cincinnati, N. Texas, Bradley, Wichita, Tulsa, and Memphis were in the Valley then - SIU joined in 1975.
Only 25 teams in the tournament then, so Louisville went to the NIT (won by Temple) instead. SIU was also in the NIT that year - lost to South Carolina in the first round.
The Mideast Regional was held at SIU arena (new in 1964). Purdue won the regional final over Marquette and Al McGuire, 72 - 71, and went on to the National Championship game.
UCLA (with Lew Alcindor/Kareem Abdul Jabbar) went 29 - 1 and won the Nat'l Championship by blowing out Purdue 92 - 72. UCLA's only loss that year was USC by 2 pts. Their only close games that year were USC and Drake.
Drake won the 3rd place game by blowing out North Carolina, 104 - 84.

Sunday MVC Games
Illinois State +5.5 @ Mo State - 3pm on ESPN3
Loyola -3.0 @ Valparaiso - 3pm on ESPNU
Loyola rallies to the win at Valpo after the Crusaders scuffled badly down the stretch. Loyola/Bryan Mullins in great shape to repeat as MVC champs.
Townes is really balling for Loyola. Javon Freeman is probably going to be a future MVC POY for Valpo if they can hold onto him.
Illinois State loses on a halfcourt buzzer-beater for the second time this MVC season. Unheard of.
The Redbirds are so undisciplined down the stretch of games. Jared Dixon was the hero. Just as the ball left his fingertips the clock hit 0:00 and the ball banked in for the Bears win.
